Why does my KTM Motorcycle engine have so little power?
    • S
      sarahmillerAug 18, 2025
A lack of power in your KTM Motorcycle engine can stem from several causes. These include an interrupted fuel feed, a very dirty air filter, a leaky or deformed exhaust system, a fault in the ignition system, a damaged diaphragm or reed valve housing, or noticeable wear. To address this, check the fuel tank breather, clean the fuel tap and check/set the carburetor components. Clean the air filter and air filter box. Check the exhaust system for damage and change the glass fiber yarn filling of the main silencer. Check the ignition system and adjust the ignition. Check the diaphragm and reed valve housing. Consider overhauling the engine if there's noticeable wear.

      Jason TurnerAug 26, 2025
If your KTM Motorcycle engine is overheating, the following could be the reasons: very dirty radiator fins, foam formation in the cooling system, a damaged cylinder head or cylinder head gasket, a bent radiator hose, or an incorrect ignition point due to a loose stator. You should clean the radiator fins, drain and refill the coolant, check the cylinder head or cylinder head gasket, change the radiator hose and adjust the ignition.

What to do if KTM 65 SX 2013 Motorcycle engine stalls or pops into the carburetor?
    • R
      Rachel AndrewsAug 28, 2025
If your KTM Motorcycle engine stalls or pops into the carburetor, it could be due to a lack of fuel, the engine taking in bad air, a loose or oxidized connector or ignition coil, or too little coolant in the cooling system. To resolve this, turn the knurled screw on the fuel tap all the way counterclockwise and fill up with fuel. Check the intake flange and carburetor for tightness. Clean the plug-in connection and treat it with contact spray. Check the cooling system for leakage and check the coolant level.

Why won't my KTM 65 SX 2013 engine start, even though it turns over?
    • K
      kristen33Nov 14, 2025
Several factors can prevent your KTM Motorcycle engine from starting. It could be due to an operating error during the starting procedure. Old fuel in the float chamber if the motorcycle has been out of use for a long time. A fuel feed interruption, an oily or wet spark plug, or incorrect spark plug gap. Issues within the ignition system, a short circuit in the wiring harness, a defective kill switch, a loose or oxidized connector or ignition coil, or water in the carburetor or blocked jets could also be responsible. To resolve this, go through the steps of starting the engine, empty the carburetor float chamber, check and clean the fuel tank breather and fuel tap, check/set the carburetor components, clean or change the spark plug, adjust the plug gap to 0.60 mm (0.0236 in), check the ign...
