How to troubleshoot starting issues with my KYMCO Scooter?
    • S
      Sarah BishopJul 27, 2025
If your KYMCO Scooter's engine won't start or is hard to start, begin by checking if fuel reaches the carburetor by loosening the drain screw. If fuel delivery isn't the issue, remove the spark plug, install it into the spark plug cap, and test for a spark by connecting it to the engine ground. If there is no spark, the AC generator, ignition coil, or exciter coil may be broken or shorted. If the spark is OK, test the cylinder compression. Finally, try starting the engine by following the normal starting procedure.

What to do if starter motor of KYMCO Scooter is not working?
    • J
      Jessica MurphyAug 3, 2025
If your KYMCO Scooter's starter motor is not functioning correctly, check the operation of the stop switch by applying the brake. If the stoplight does not come on, this indicates a faulty stop switch, loose or disconnected connectors, or a broken or shorted ignition switch wire. If the starter motor turns slowly, check the battery circuit by operating the turn signals. If the starter motor does not turn, it could be due to open or shorted wires or rotor, an open starter motor cable, or loose connectors.

Why does my KYMCO DINK 200 engine lack power?
    • J
      Jacob PierceAug 11, 2025
If your KYMCO Scooter engine lacks power, start by starting the engine and accelerating lightly to observe. If the issue persists, check the ignition timing using a timing light. After that, inspect and check the valve clearance. Finally, test cylinder compression and check the carburetor for clogging. Remove the spark plug and inspect it, and also check the cylinder head oil pipe bolt.

Why is there no spark at the spark plug on my KYMCO DINK 200?
    • J
      Justin LewisAug 18, 2025
If there's no spark at the spark plug of your KYMCO Scooter, it could be due to a faulty ignition switch, pulser coil, or ignition coil. Also, check for a broken wire harness or a poorly connected coupler. In all these cases you may observe weak or no spark.
