Overview

The Kyowa Blender, model number KW-4720, is a household appliance designed for blending various food items.

Function Description:

The Kyowa Blender is primarily used for processing food, including blending fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients to create smoothies, purees, and other mixtures. It features a motor base, a glass pitcher, a blade assembly, and a lid with a refilling cup. The rotary switch allows users to select different blending speeds or engage a pulse function for controlled operation.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model Number: KW-4720
  • Voltage: 230Va.c.
  • Frequency: 60Hz
  • Power: 500 WATTS
  • Pitcher Material: Glass
  • Controls: Rotary Switch (I to II for continuous operation, Pulse for controlled cycles)

Usage Features:

  1. Preparation: Before first use, all packaging materials should be removed, and the power cable untangled. It is crucial to ensure the rubber sealing ring of the glass jar and the lid gasket are properly installed to prevent leakage during operation. Food items to be processed should be washed and cut into small pieces, not larger than 1 inch, before being placed inside the glass pitcher.
  2. Assembly: The glass pitcher is placed securely on the motor base, followed by the lid, and then the refilling cup on top of the lid.
  3. Operation: The blender should always be operated from a power source matching its voltage and frequency ratings. It must be placed on a flat, even surface, away from counter edges. The unit should not be used in damp or wet areas, and its exterior and base must be kept dry. The blender pitcher cover must be firmly attached and the cover tightly closed before turning on the unit. During operation, it is recommended to hold the pitcher lid to support the unit.
  4. Speed Selection: The rotary switch allows users to select the desired speed by rotating it clockwise from "I" to "II" for continuous blending. For controlled cycle operation, the knob can be rotated counter-clockwise and held to the "Pulse" switch.
  5. Blending Process: For optimal blending, the unit should run for approximately 1 minute, then turned OFF for 1 minute to allow it to rest, repeating the process until the food is well blended.
  6. Adding Ingredients: Ingredients can be added during blending by removing the refilling cup and gradually adding them through the small opening on the lid.
  7. Hot Liquids: When processing hot liquids, the feeder cap should be removed from the blender pitcher cover.
  8. Overload Prevention: Do not overload the blender by exceeding the highest line indicated on the pitcher. Foods to be processed should not be larger than 1 inch.
  9. Safety Precautions:
    • Never operate the blender if any part is damaged; return it to an authorized dealer for repair.
    • Avoid placing the blender on or near hot surfaces (gas or electric burners, hotplates, heated ovens).
    • Use only accessories originally provided.
    • Always ensure the pitcher is firmly attached to the motor base.
    • Never leave the blender unattended while in use.
    • Wait until the blender has completely stopped before removing the pitcher from the base.
    • Switch OFF and unplug the blender before emptying, when not in use, or before cleaning.
    • Unplug by holding the plug, not by pulling the supply cord.
    • To prevent electric shock, do not immerse or expose the blender to rain, moisture, or any liquid.
    • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person.
    • Keep out of reach of children or persons with mental or physical disabilities.
    • This blender is intended for normal domestic/household use only and is not suitable for commercial use.
    • Use a rubber spatula to push or mix foods inside the blender, ensuring the unit is turned OFF when doing so.

Maintenance Features:

  1. Cleaning Movable Parts: After each use, all movable parts (pitcher, lid, and refill cup) should be washed with warm, soapy water. These parts are also dishwasher-safe.
  2. Cleaning the Blender Pitcher: The pitcher can be cleaned by adding water and a few drops of liquid detergent, placing it on the motor base, and allowing it to operate for about 10 seconds. Discard the liquid and rinse the pitcher thoroughly.
  3. Cleaning the Motor Base: Never immerse the blender motor in water. The motor housing should be cleaned by wiping it with a soft, damp cloth.
  4. Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or any metallic and sharp objects (e.g., scrubbing brushes or knives) for cleaning any part of the blender.
  5. Drying: All parts of the blender should be wiped dry with a soft, dry cloth after cleaning.
  6. Storage: Store the blender in a cool and dry place. Ensure all parts and accessories are put back in their proper places before operating again.
  7. Service and Repair: If the unit malfunctions or appears damaged, do not attempt to disassemble it yourself. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. The complete product should be brought to the place of purchase or an authorized Kyowa dealer for inspection, repair, or replacement. All needed repairs should be referred to an authorized Kyowa service facility ONLY.
