Overview

This document describes the Kyowa Professional Blender, model KW-4765, an appliance designed for blending various food items.

Function Description:

The Kyowa Professional Blender is a kitchen appliance primarily used for blending, mixing, and crushing food. It features a motor base, a pitcher with a blade assembly, a pitcher cover, a refill cap, and a stirrer. The blender is designed to process both soft and hard foods, including ice, to achieve a well-blended consistency. It incorporates safety features such as a mechanism that prevents operation if the pitcher is not securely fixed to the motor base, and an automatic shut-off in case of overload.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model Number: KW-4765
  • Voltage: 230V a.c.
  • Frequency: 60Hz
  • Power: 1500 WATTS
  • Controls: Power switch, Rotary Speed Control (levels 1 to 5), Pulse Control.
  • Safety Features: Overload protection with a reset button located at the bottom of the motor base, safety device requiring secure pitcher attachment for operation.
  • Components: Refill cap, pitcher cover, pitcher, blade assembly, power switch, rotary speed control, pulse control, stirrer, rubber footing.

Usage Features:

  1. Initial Setup: Before first use, all packaging materials must be removed, and the power cable untangled. The blender pitcher must be securely placed on the motor base; the unit will not operate otherwise due to a safety device.
  2. Food Preparation: Food items should be washed and cut into small pieces, not larger than 1 inch, before being placed inside the blender pitcher.
  3. Operation:
    • Ensure the power switch is OFF and the speed control knob is at the lowest setting before plugging the unit into a power supply.
    • Cover the pitcher with the pitcher cover and insert the refill cap.
    • Turn the power switch to ON to start operation.
    • Support the unit by resting a hand on the container lid during operation.
    • Adjust the blending speed by turning the speed adjustment control knob clockwise from level 1 to 5. It is recommended to start with the lowest setting and increase if processing takes too long.
    • For adding ingredients during blending, remove the refill cap and gradually add items through the small opening in the cover.
    • The stirrer can be inserted into the blender pitcher (after removing the refill cap) to mix ingredients or assist in crushing ice.
    • The pulse function is specifically for crushing ice or processing hard foods.
    • The blender should run for approximately 1 minute, then be turned OFF for a 1-minute rest period. This process should be repeated until the desired blending consistency is achieved.
  4. Overload Protection: The blender will automatically shut off if overloaded. To restart, press the reset button located at the bottom of the motor base.
  5. Safety Precautions:
    • Always operate from a power source matching the rating label.
    • Place the unit on a flat, even surface, away from counter edges.
    • Avoid using the blender in damp or wet areas; keep the exterior and base dry.
    • Do not operate if any part is damaged; return to an authorized service facility.
    • Keep away from hot surfaces (gas/electric burners, hotplates, ovens).
    • Use only originally provided accessories.
    • Ensure the pitcher is firmly attached and the cover is tightly closed during operation.
    • Do not overload the blender by exceeding the MAX line.
    • Never leave the blender unattended.
    • Wait for the blender to stop completely before removing the container.
    • Switch OFF and unplug before emptying, when not in use, or before cleaning.
    • Unplug by holding the plug, not by pulling the cord.
    • Do not immerse the blender in water or expose it to rain/moisture to prevent electric shock.
    • Keep out of reach of children or individuals with mental/physical disabilities.

Maintenance Features:

  1. Cleaning Movable Parts: After each use, the pitcher, lid, and refill cap should be washed with warm, soapy water. These parts are also dishwasher safe.
  2. Cleaning the Pitcher (In-situ): The blender pitcher can be cleaned by adding water and a few drops of liquid detergent, placing it on the motor base, and operating for about 10 seconds. Discard the liquid and rinse thoroughly.
  3. Cleaning the Motor Base: The motor housing should never be immersed in water. It should be cleaned by wiping with a soft, damp cloth.
  4. Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or metallic/sharp objects (e.g., scrubbing brushes, knives) for cleaning any part of the blender.
  5. Drying and Storage: All parts should be wiped dry with a soft, dry cloth. Store the blender in a cool and dry place.
  6. Reassembly: Ensure all parts and accessories are put back in their proper places before subsequent operation.
  7. Service and Repair:
    • If the blender malfunctions or appears damaged, it should be brought to the place of purchase or an authorized Kyowa dealer for inspection, repair, or replacement.
    • The user should not attempt to disassemble the blender, as there are no user-serviceable parts inside. All repairs must be referred to an authorized Kyowa service facility.
