Overview

This document provides a quick guide and safety precautions for a coffee machine designed for single-serve beverages.

Function Description

The coffee machine is designed to prepare single-serve beverages, including espresso, lungo, and hot water. It operates by heating water and passing it through a coffee capsule to extract the desired drink. The machine features an ON/OFF button, and separate buttons for espresso, lungo, and hot water selection. LEDs indicate the machine's heating status and readiness for use. The brewing process is automated, stopping once the beverage is complete.

Usage Features

1. Filling the Water Tank: Before operation, the water tank needs to be filled with fresh drinking water, up to a maximum capacity of 600ml. The water tank is easily accessible for refilling.

2. Connecting Power and Switching On: The appliance must be connected to an earthed power socket. To switch on the machine, press the ON/OFF button. Upon activation, the coffee and hot water button LEDs will blink, signaling that the machine is heating up. This heating process typically takes approximately 30 seconds. The machine is ready for use when these LEDs illuminate permanently.

3. Adjusting the Cup Tray Height: The machine features an adjustable cup tray to accommodate various cup sizes. Users can move the tray up or down, or remove it entirely, to fit their preferred cup. Once adjusted, a suitable cup can be placed on the tray to collect the beverage.

4. Inserting the Capsule: To prepare a drink, open the handle of the machine and insert a coffee capsule into the designated slot. After inserting the capsule, close the handle securely.

5. Starting the Beverage: Once the capsule is in place and the machine is ready, users can select their desired beverage by pressing one of the dedicated buttons:

  • ESPRESSO: For an espresso shot.
  • LUNGO: For a longer coffee.
  • HOT WATER: For dispensing hot water. The brewing process will commence automatically and will stop once the selected beverage is fully prepared. After brewing, the handle should be opened to eject the used capsule into the internal waste container.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning and Servicing: For detailed handling, cleaning, and maintenance instructions, users are directed to the operator manual available online. It is crucial to remove the plug from the main socket and allow the machine to cool down before performing any cleaning or servicing tasks. This ensures safety and prevents damage to the appliance.

Safety Precautions for Maintenance:

  • Never immerse the machine, its power cable, or the power plug in water or any other liquid.
  • Keep the power cable out of reach of children.
  • Avoid placing the power cable near or in contact with hot parts of the machine, heat sources, or sharp edges.
  • Do not place the machine on hot surfaces, such as a heating plate.
  • Do not use the machine in the vicinity of an open flame.
  • Ensure the machine is placed on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from water splashes.

Power Cord Management: If the power cord becomes damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to prevent hazards associated with sub-standard power cords. This emphasizes the importance of professional repair for critical components.

General Safety: The appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be explicitly warned about the dangers of the appliance and must not play with it. In case of an emergency, the plug should be immediately removed from the power socket. Before use, verify that the voltage stated on the rating plate matches the mains voltage. Connecting the appliance only to an earthed power socket is essential, as incorrect connections will void the warranty.
