Overview

This document describes the Lamona LAM3676 Built-in Single Split Cavity Oven, a domestic cooking appliance designed for integration into kitchen cabinets. The oven offers a variety of cooking modes and features for both single large section operation and split cavity use, allowing for simultaneous cooking in separate upper and lower sections.

Function Description

The oven provides a range of cooking functions to suit different culinary needs. For single large section cooking, it includes:

  • Static (Top and bottom heating): Both top and bottom heaters operate simultaneously, ideal for cooking with one tray.
  • Bottom heating: Only the bottom heater is active, suitable for pizza and browning food from the bottom.
  • Static fan (Fan supported bottom/top heating): Top and bottom heaters, plus the rear fan, distribute hot air evenly throughout the oven, suitable for cooking with one tray.
  • Defrost (Fan operated): The oven is not heated, and only the rear fan operates, suitable for thawing frozen food slowly or cooling cooked food.
  • Fan assisted cooking: Only the rear fan heater operates, distributing hot air evenly. Preheating is often not required.
  • Top heater and fan (Fan assisted top heating): The top heater and rear fan operate, providing better hot air distribution than top heating alone.
  • Pizza: Bottom heater and fan assisted heater operate simultaneously, specifically designed for baking pizza.
  • Multi "3D" cooking: Top, bottom, and fan assisted heaters operate simultaneously, suitable for cooking with one tray.
  • Economic grill: Only the inner section of the top heater operates, suitable for grilling small and medium-sized meat pieces.
  • Full grill: Both inner and outer sections of the top heater operate simultaneously, suitable for grilling medium-sized meat pieces.
  • Grill+Fan (Fan supported grill): The rear fan operates with both inner and outer sections of the top heater, distributing hot air evenly for grilling.
  • Warm keeping: Used to keep food at a serving temperature for extended periods, not for cooking.
  • Eco fan cooking: Only the rear fan heater operates to save power, suitable for cooking operations typically performed with Fan Heating at 160-220°C, though cooking times will be longer.
  • Low temperature cooking: Food is heated simultaneously from the top and bottom at a low temperature, suitable for slow-cooking roasted/seared meats in an open container to ensure juicy and soft results. Pre-roasting/searing on a hob is recommended.

When operating in split cavity mode, the oven allows for independent control of the upper and lower sections. Functions available for the upper section include Fan heating, Economic fan, Top heater+fan, Full grill+Fan, Full grill, Defrost, and Economic grill. For the lower section, available functions are Fan heating, Pizza, Economic fan, and Bottom heating.

Usage Features

The oven features a user-friendly control panel with a function display, current time indicator, temperature indicator, start/stop button, time and setting controls, confirmation button, up/down keys, temperature/booster control, function selection, oven section selection, and an on/off button.

  • Manual Cooking: Users can manually select a function and temperature. The oven will operate continuously until manually switched off.
  • Cooking by Setting Time: The oven can be programmed to switch off automatically after a set cooking time. This involves selecting a function, temperature, and then the desired cooking duration.
  • Booster (Rapid Heating): For single large section cooking, a booster function can be activated to quickly reach the set temperature.
  • Split Cavity Operation: The oven can be used as a single large section or split into upper and lower sections by placing a middle section plate. This allows for cooking different dishes simultaneously at varying temperatures and functions. When using only one section (top or bottom), it is important to keep the unused section empty as it will still get hot.
  • Grilling: Grilling can be performed in the single large section, top section only, or top section with bottom top sections operated. The oven door should be closed during grilling.
  • Key Lock: A key lock function prevents unintended operation, useful when the oven is in standby.
  • Alarm Clock: The oven timer can be used as an alarm clock for reminders, independent of cooking programs.
  • Energy Saving Tips: Recommendations include using dark-coloured cookware, preheating only when advised, avoiding frequent door opening, cooking multiple dishes simultaneously, and switching off the oven a few minutes before the end of cooking time.
  • Telescopic Shelf Runner System: The oven is equipped with telescopic runners for easy and safe placement and removal of trays and wire shelves, even at full extension.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for extending the product's service life and ensuring safe operation.

  • First Cleaning: Before initial use, all packaging materials should be removed, and the oven surfaces wiped with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Aggressive cleaners, powders, or sharp objects should be avoided.
  • Initial Heating: It is recommended to heat the oven for about 30 minutes before first use to burn off any production residues.
  • General Cleaning: The oven should be cleaned thoroughly after each use to easily remove cooking residues and prevent them from burning on. Warm water with washing liquid and a soft cloth or sponge are recommended. Excess liquid should always be wiped dry.
  • Oven Door Cleaning: The oven door should be cleaned without harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers to avoid scratching the glass.
  • Removal of Oven Door: The oven door can be removed for thorough cleaning. This involves unlocking clips at the hinge housing, raising the door to a half-way position, and pulling it upwards from the hinges.
  • Removing Inner Door Glass: The inner glass panels of the door can also be removed for cleaning. Caution is advised as the door has the potential to spring closed.
  • Cleaning Inside the Oven: The side walls of the oven can be cleaned by removing the middle section plate and wire racks.
  • Replacing Oven Lamp: The oven lamp can be replaced by disconnecting the oven from the mains, turning the glass cover counter-clockwise (for round lamps), or removing the protective glass cover with a screwdriver (for square lamps), and then replacing the bulb.
  • Cooling Fan: The built-in cooling fan cools both the front of the appliance and cabinetry. It continues to run for 20-30 minutes after the oven control is turned off, so the oven should not be switched off at the mains isolation switch immediately after cooking.
