Overview

The provided document is a multi-language user manual for "VITAL +" hot tubs, specifically covering the AMIATA, HENGILL, and SALINA models from Landskap of Sweden. The manual includes installation instructions, safety guidelines, usage features, and troubleshooting for these spa baths.

Function Description

The VITAL + hot tubs are equipped with a massage pump, a massage distribution valve, and several air valves, allowing users to operate different parts of the jet system independently or simultaneously. The control system manages the heating, filtration, and ozone generation to maintain water quality and temperature. The hot tubs are designed for relaxation and hydrotherapy, providing a comfortable and safe bathing experience. The system includes various modes such as READY (for continuous heating and polling), REST (heating only during programmed filter cycles), and a priming mode for initial setup.

Usage Features

The hot tubs are designed for user-friendly operation with a control panel that allows adjustment of various settings.

  • Temperature Adjustment: The water temperature can be set between 16°C and 40°C using the "Temp" buttons. The display flashes during adjustment and then shows the new set temperature once confirmed.
  • Pump Operation: "Jets" buttons activate or deactivate pumps and toggle between low and high speeds where available. Pumps have automatic timeouts (30 minutes for low speed, 15 minutes for high speed).
  • Circulation Pump Modes: The circulation pump can operate in three ways: continuous (24 hours with a 30-minute pause if water temperature exceeds set temperature by 1.5°C), continuous regardless of temperature, or programmable (activated during temperature checks, filter cycles, frost risk, or when another pump runs).
  • Filtration and Ozone Generation: All models include an ozone generator for effective water purification, reducing bacteria, viruses, mould, algae, and chlorine usage. Filter cycles are pre-programmed and their duration can be adjusted.
  • Freeze Protection: If temperature sensors detect low temperatures, pumps automatically activate to prevent freezing, running continuously or periodically as needed.
  • Cleaning Cycle (Optional): A 30-minute cleaning cycle, involving the pump and ozone generator, can be initiated after a pump is switched off or reaches its timeout limit.
  • Control Panel Navigation: The control panel uses "Temp" and "Light" buttons for menu navigation and programming. The display shows messages for various operational statuses and errors. A "LOCK" function prevents unintended changes to settings.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the hot tub.

  • Water Replacement: The spa water should be changed 2-4 times per year. During water changes, it is recommended to vent the pump by loosening locknuts and to replace the filter.
  • Filter Cleaning: The filter cassette should be cleaned at least once a week to prevent clogging from mineral particles and dirt. High-pressure nozzles (not high-pressure washers) and specific cleaning agents for body oils and greasy dirt are recommended. Filters should be removed if the spa is unused for two weeks or more. Never clean filters with chlorine.
  • Acrylic Surface Cleaning: The high-quality acrylic surface should be cleaned regularly with an anti-scrubbing agent (e.g., denatured alcohol) and a soft cloth or sponge to maintain its quality.
  • Spa Cover Care: The hard vinyl cover should be wiped clean regularly to extend its lifespan. Avoid leaving snow and dirt on it for prolonged periods. Direct sunlight and mould can damage the cover, as vinyl is sensitive to UV radiation.
  • Water Chemical Balance: Maintaining the correct chemical balance (pH, hardness, disinfectant levels) is essential for clean and clear water. Regular testing with water analysers (tablets, litmus paper) and adjustment with appropriate chemicals are recommended.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting section to help users identify and resolve common issues such as cloudy water, bad odour, skin irritation, pump malfunctions, and heating problems.
  • Reminder Messages: The control system displays reminder messages for various maintenance tasks (e.g., checking pH, checking chemicals, cleaning filters, changing water, cleaning cover, cleaning wooden panels, changing mineral cassette). These reminders can be configured or switched off via the PREF menu.
  • Safety Checks: Regular testing of the RCD (Residual Current Device) is mandatory to ensure electrical safety.
  • Professional Installation and Service: All electrical connections and major servicing must be performed by an authorised electrician or qualified technician to ensure safety and maintain warranty validity. Access to all sides of the spa must be ensured for service.
