This document is a safety and operating manual for LawnMaster PB Series Open Frame Generators. It provides comprehensive information on the generator's function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.
Function Description:
The LawnMaster PB Series Open Frame Generators are designed for domestic consumer use to provide electrical power. They are equipped with an engine that produces powerful voltage and electricity. The generators are designed for full-time operation and can be used as a backup power source, especially in off-grid photovoltaic installations where solar energy may be insufficient. Some models feature electric start, while others use a hand recoil start. The generators are capable of supporting various electrical devices, from small appliances to larger power tools, within their specified wattage limits. Certain models are also designed for automatic start and stop, commanded by an inverter/charger, which can detect low battery levels and send signals to the generator to start or stop as needed.

Usage Features:
- Operating Environment: Must be used outdoors in well-ventilated, clean, and dry areas, on flat, level surfaces. A minimum of 1m clearance on all sides is required for adequate cooling.
- Fuel: Uses clean, fresh, regular unleaded petrol. Fuel tank should not be overfilled to prevent damage to the carbon canister.
- Oil: Requires 4-Stroke 10W30 oil. The engine is not pre-filled with oil and must be filled before starting to avoid damage and voiding warranty. Equipped with a low oil sensor that automatically stops the engine if oil levels fall below a safe limit.
- Starting:
- Electric Start: Turn and hold the key to "START" position until the engine starts, then release to "RUN".
- Manual Start: Turn the switch to "RUN", flick the switch button to "OPEN", then pull the starter handle quickly.
- Choke Valve: Used for starting, pulled to "ON" position, then pushed to "CLOSE" once the engine operates stably.
- Electrical Devices: All electrical devices and AC circuit breaker must be switched off before starting the engine. Ensure proper grounding to prevent electrical shocks.
- Bearing Capacity: Users must calculate the total rated (running) watts and surge (starting) watts required for their electrical devices to avoid overloading the generator, which can damage the unit and void the warranty.
- VFT Meter (if applicable): Displays voltage, frequency, run time, and total run time.
- Battery Charging (Applicable Types): Batteries can be charged via a dedicated charging socket.
- Stopping the Engine: Remove all load, turn off the AC breaker protector, remove all electrical plugs, and turn off the flameout switch (engine switch to "OFF") and fuel valve to "OFF".
- Long Distance Control (Applicable Types): Designed for automatic start/stop via a remote signal from photovoltaic installations, typically commanded by an inverter/charger.
Maintenance Features:
- Maintenance Schedule: A detailed schedule is provided for inspections, replacements, and adjustments of various components (engine oil, air filter, spark plug, spark arrester, idle speed, valve clearance, carbon canister, low permeability oil tube, oil tube). Service intervals are specified in hours (10, 50, 100, 300) or time (first month, three months, six months, every two years, annually). More frequent servicing is recommended under severe, dusty, or dirty conditions.
- Engine Oil: Regular oil checks and changes are crucial. Recommended oil is LawnMaster 4-Stroke 10W30. Oil should be changed when the engine is warm.
- Air Filters: Foam filter element should be removed, washed in liquid detergent and warm water, thoroughly dried, saturated in clean engine oil, and excess oil squeezed out.
- Spark Plug: Regular inspection, cleaning, and adjustment of the spark plug gap (0.6mm - 0.8mm) are necessary. Replacement is required if damaged or worn.
- Spark Arrester (Applicable Types): Carbon deposits should be regularly removed from the spark arrester screen using a wire brush.
- Cleaning: The generator should be kept clean. Exterior surfaces can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Compressed air (25 PSI) can be used to clear dirt and debris. Water should not be used to clean the generator to avoid damage to windings.
- Storage: For long-term storage (2 months or more), the fuel tank should be emptied, fuel hose and carburetor drained, fuel supply turned off, oil changed, spark plug removed, 15 ml of oil poured into the cylinder, engine cranked slowly, and spark plug reattached. Store in a clean, dry area out of direct sunlight.
- Transportation: Secure the generator upright, with the engine switch OFF and fuel valve OFF. Drain fuel if transporting over rough roads.
