LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS
STOP – READ SAFETY INFORMATION ABOVE.
Turn the manual gas control on [counterclockwise] slightly to get gas flowing through the lines and then turn clockwise
to the “OFF” position or when you have a firm stop.
Wait 5 minutes for gas to clear out.
Use a butane lighter, long fireplace match or place a burning match to the surface of the lava granules that cover the
burner. Do not hold the match by hand.
After the match is burning and in position, turn the gas control key counterclockwise slightly, and slowly continue turning
the key counter-clockwise until ignition, then turn the key to obtain the desire flame height. Do not leave the gas
on for more than 30 seconds with out ignition.
Shutting Off the Firepit
Turn off; rotate the manual gas control key clockwise to the “OFF” position or when you have reached a firm stop
CAUTION: DO NOT turn the main gas valve key to the “ON” position FOR 45 SECONDS after shutting the unit off.
BEFORE LIGHTING, smell all around the Outdoor Firepit area for gas. Be sure to smell next to the floor because
some gas is heavier than air and will settle on the floor. IF YOU SMELL GAS FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON
PAGE 1.
Use only your hand to turn the gas key control. Never use tools to turn the key. If the key will not turn by hand, DO
NOT try to repair it. Call a qualified, professional service technician. Force or attempted repair may result in fire or
explosion.
DO NOT use this appliance if any part has been under water. Immediately call a qualified, professional service
technician to inspect the Outdoor Firepit and to replace any part of the control system and any gas control that has
been under water.
