Overview

The LEM Spring Loaded Burger Press #1261 is a kitchen appliance designed for domestic use to form hamburger patties. It is not intended for commercial purposes.

Function Description:

The primary function of the LEM Spring Loaded Burger Press is to efficiently and uniformly shape ground meat into patties. Its spring-loaded mechanism and adjustable press plate allow users to customize the thickness of each patty. The device is designed to be used in conjunction with LEM Freezer Sheets to prevent patties from sticking, ensuring easy removal and handling. The press simplifies the process of making homemade burgers, providing consistent results in terms of shape and thickness.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model Number: #1261
  • Warranty: 1-year limited warranty from the original purchase date. A 90-day warranty applies if the warranty card is not returned with proof of purchase.
  • Components: The burger press consists of several key parts:
    • Top: The upper section of the press.
    • Adjustment Screw: Used to fine-tune the patty thickness.
    • Top Knob: Pressed down to compress the meat and form the patty; also used to release the press plate for cleaning or patty removal.
    • Spring: Provides the spring-loaded action for compression and release.
    • Locking Wing Nut: Secures the adjustment plate in place once the desired thickness is set.
    • Adjustment Plate: The component that moves up and down to determine patty thickness.
    • Patty Thickness Indicator: Shows the current thickness setting.
    • Base Plate: The bottom surface where the meat is placed.
    • Anti-slip Feet: Located on the base to ensure stability during use.
  • Materials: The manual does not specify the exact materials, but it implies durable construction suitable for food contact and repeated use, given the warranty against defective materials and workmanship.

Usage Features:

  • Adjustable Patty Thickness: Users can easily adjust the thickness of their patties. This is achieved by loosening the locking wing nut, turning the press plate in or out to the desired thickness, and then tightening the wing nut finger-tight. This feature allows for versatility in patty size, catering to different preferences.
  • Ease of Patty Formation: To make a patty, a freezer sheet is placed over the base plate, followed by ground meat, and then another freezer sheet over the meat. The top of the burger press is closed, and the top knob is pressed to pack the burger tightly. Excess meat can be removed from the outside.
  • Patty Release Mechanism: If a patty sticks to the top of the press, pressing the top knob uses the press plate to release it, ensuring easy removal without damage to the patty.
  • Compatibility with Freezer Sheets: The press is designed to be used with LEM Freezer Sheets, which are available separately. These sheets prevent sticking, making the patty-making process cleaner and more efficient.
  • Domestic Use: The appliance is specifically designed for home use and is not recommended for commercial applications.
  • Safety Guidelines:
    • Always ensure proper assembly and safe setup.
    • Keep out of reach of children and individuals with certain disabilities.
    • Store in a secure, dry place when not in use.
    • DO NOT use on bones, deep-frozen food, hard items, or non-food items.
    • Use only with supplied accessories; unauthorized attachments may void the warranty and cause injury.
    • Avoid use under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
    • Tie back loose hair and clothing; remove neckties, rings, watches, bracelets, or other jewelry before operating.

Maintenance Features:

  • Easy Cleaning: The burger press is designed for straightforward cleaning. To clean, the top knob is unscrewed, and the spring is removed, which releases the press plate. All parts can then be washed in warm, soapy water, rinsed, and hand-dried. After cleaning, the burger press can be reassembled.
