Tomaximizethelifeofthebattery,dothefollowing:
Usethebatteryuntilthechargeiscompletelydepleted;thatis,usethebatteryuntilthebatterystatus
indicatorstartsblinkingorange.
Rechargethebatterycompletelybeforeusingit.Thebatteryisfullychargedifthebatteryindicatorshows
greenwhentheacpoweradapterispluggedin.
Alwaysusepowermanagementfeaturessuchaspowermodes,screenblank,sleep,andhibernation.

Thecomputerdisplayrequiresconsiderablebatterypower.Toturnoffpowertothedisplay,right-clickthe
batterygaugeiconfromtheWindowsnoticationareaandselectPoweroffdisplay.
Sleep
Insleepmode,yourworkissavedtomemory,andthenthesolid-statedriveortheharddiskdriveandthe
computerdisplayareturnedoff.Whenyourcomputerwakesup,yourworkisrestoredwithinseconds.To
putyourcomputerintosleepmode,dothefollowing:

1.ClickStart.
2.ClickthetrianglemarkontherightsideoftheShutdownicon;thenselectSleep.
ForWindows8:
1.Movethecursortothebottomrightcornerofthescreentobringupthecharm.
2.ClickSettingsPowerSleep.
Dependingonthecomputermodel,yourcomputermightsupportthe30DayStandbyfunction.Whenthis
functionisenabled,thecomputerconsumesevenlesspowerinsleepmodeandtakesonlyseconds
