1.2 Conventions used
This documentation uses the following conventions to distinguish between different
types of information:
Spelling of numbers
Decimal separator
Point In general, the decimal point is used.

1.3 Terminology used
Term Meaning
IPC Industrial PC
CPC Cabinet PC; control cabinet PC with decentralised
display/operating unit (MP, Thin Client)
CS Command Station; stand−alone operator station
EL Embedded Line PC; for installation in control cabinets, machine
panelling, or other mounting cutouts
MP Monitor panel; external display
Thin Client Device for representing and operating applications which are
located on a remote host computer (e.g. CPC).
PLC Programmable Logic Controller
