How to troubleshoot a LEYBOLD RUVAC WH Extender pump that does not reach its pumping speed?
    • R
      Robert GarciaAug 16, 2025
If your LEYBOLD Extender pump is not reaching its specified pumping speed, several factors could be responsible. The intake screen might be clogged, so clean it. The motor could be incorrectly connected; ensure it is correctly connected. The speed might be set too low; set it to the correct speed. There could be a gas leak in the pump system; detect and seal it off. Also, if it is a WHU model, the valve of the pressure balance line may not be closing; clean the valve or have it repaired.

What to do if my LEYBOLD RUVAC WH Extender pump does not start?

      Alex BakerAug 22, 2025
If your LEYBOLD Extender pump isn't starting, it could be due to a few reasons. Check if the motor or frequency converter is incorrectly connected and connect them correctly. The lubricant might be too thick; exchange the lubricant or warm up the lubricant and pump. For issues such as a defective overtemperature switch, motor stator, seized pump (defective impellers, bearings, or toothed gears), contact Leybold Service.

Why is my LEYBOLD Extender pump so loud?
    • A
      Allen CampbellAug 29, 2025
An unusually loud LEYBOLD Extender pump can stem from several issues. A defective motor stator, low oil level (top up oil), or small distances between housing and rotors due to contamination (clean pump chamber) could be the cause. Other potential causes include bearing or gear damage, pistons making contact with the housing (fix and connect pump free of tension), or an untrue rotor. For issues like a defective motor stator, bearing or gear damage, or an untrue rotor, contact Leybold Service immediately and shutdown pump.

How to fix a LEYBOLD Extender pump that is leaking lubricant?
    • R
      Raymond MckaySep 3, 2025
If your LEYBOLD Extender pump is losing lubricant, check for the following: If the oil drain plug is leaky, drain the lubricant, firmly screw in a new oil drain plug with the gasket, and refill with the correct lubricant quantity. If the oil sight glasses are leaky, replace the O-ring of the gear cover. For issues like a leaky gear cover or a leak in the seal with a puddle under the motor, contact Leybold Service and shutdown pump immediately.

Why is my LEYBOLD RUVAC WH pump getting too hot?
    • M
      Maria ReynoldsNov 10, 2025
Your LEYBOLD Extender pump may be overheating due to several reasons. Insufficient cooling water supply or clogged cooling water lines could be the cause; ensure a sufficient cooling water supply according to the technical data. High cooling water or ambient temperatures can also contribute; install the pump in a suitable location and check pressure conditions in the system. Other potential causes include high-pressure differences or gas temperatures, clearances between housing and rotors that are too small due to contamination, high friction resistance from contaminated bearings or lubricant, using the wrong lubricant, or defective bearings. Clean the pump chamber, drain and refill with the correct lubricant, and have defective bearings addressed by Leybold Service. Also, check the system...
