The
most
common
causes
of DATA
LOST
are
lmproper
wlrlng
practices
(causing
no|se
pickup)
and
inadequat'e
noise
suppression'
In
rare
cases,
the fault
nay
be
due
to
a
weak
battery'
To
check
the
battery
voltate,
remove
power
frorn
the
unit
and
remove
the
unit
frorn
its case'
Measure
the battery
voltage
present
on
the
cPU
board
at
u3
p1n
24
to
dieital
ground
(A2)
usint
a
digital
voltmeter
across
a
10000
load
resistor.
Do
not
leave
the
load
connected
for
more
than
5 seconds
and
do
not
measure
more
than
two
tines
to
prevent excessive
battery
drar'n.
A
mlnimum
level
of 2.8
VDC
is
required.
If
the
voltage
is
low,
replace
the
batterv.
Recalibration
is
requlred
whenever
DATA
LOST
appears.

indrcates
that
a signal
being
supplied
to
the
A/D
conversion
circuitry
is
out
of range.
Thls
is
probably
caused
by
the lnptlt
sensor
(Therrnocouple,
RTD,
etc.
)
not
being
properly connected
to
t.he case
terminals
or
by an open
circuit
in
the
input
sensor
wirltrg.
Try connecting
a shorting
wire
across
the
input
sensor terrni.nals
on
the
rear
of the
Series
2000
case.
If
the
input
open
display
goes
away,
the
input
sensor
rs defective
or not
properly
connected.
If
the
INPUT
0PEN
display
does
not
go
away,
remove
the
shorting
wire
and
instead,
connect
rt
across
the
colcl
junction
compensator
(CJCl
or CJC2),
also
on
the rear
of
the
case.
If the
INPUT
0PEN
dlsplay
goes
away
(wait
at
least
30
seconds),
replace
the
CJC assembly
(P/N
344-1199)
for
older
controllers
or
C.ICI on
the
I/0
board
for
newer
controllers.
Check
A/D
conversion
clrcuitry
start-int
on
CPU
board
at
U1-12.
POWER
FAILURE
This
display
slgnals
that
the
half
wave
rectj-fied
AC
voltage
produced from
the secondary
transforrner
windint
supplylng
the
5
volt
power
stlpply
on
the
CpU
board is
low.
This
1s
probably caused
by
the
amplltude
of
the
AC
power
source
voltage
being
too
low.
Power
source
voltage
must.
be
l17
VAC
tlO%
for
proper
operation.
Check for
signal
on CPU
board
at
U1-13
(Refer
to
waveform
section)
