Function Description:
The LG refrigerator is designed for domestic household food storage. It features a freezer compartment for frozen foods and a refrigerator compartment for fresh foods. Specific models may include a Door Cooling feature, which provides cool air to the door shelves, and a Smart Connect feature, allowing the refrigerator to operate on a UPS/Inverter during power outages. The appliance is equipped with an automatic defrosting system to prevent ice buildup.
Important Technical Specifications:
The manual provides dimensions and clearances for various models (GL-292, GL-302, GL-322), including width (A), height (B), depth with door and handle (C), depth without door (D), depth without handle (E), depth with door (F), depth with door open 90 degrees (G), and height to top of case (H). For example, the GL-322 model has a width of 585mm, a height of 1675mm, and a depth with door and handle of 703mm.
The refrigerator is designed to operate within specific ambient temperature ranges depending on its climate class:

Usage Features:
- Temperature Control: The refrigerator and freezer compartment temperatures are controlled via a display button. Users can adjust the temperature to selected notches (1-5 for refrigerator, 1-5 for freezer) with a short beep sound confirming each press. The initial recommended setting is "3" for both compartments.
- Convertible Mode: Available on some models, this feature allows the freezer compartment to be converted into a fridge room by pressing and holding the convertible button for 3 seconds. The Convertible LED will turn ON, and the Freezer LED will turn OFF. It is recommended to store food, especially vegetables, in plastic containers or boxes when using this mode.
- Super Chill Mode: To accelerate cooling in the refrigerator compartment, users can activate Super Chill mode by pressing the Super Chill button for 3 seconds. The Super Chill LED will turn ON, and the feature will run for 2 hours. It can be switched off by pressing the button again for 3 seconds.
- Door Alarm: An alarm sounds if the refrigerator door is left open for 1 minute.
- Egg-cum-Ice Tray: This tray can be used for storing eggs or making ice cubes. To remove ice cubes, the lever of the tray should be gently turned. The ice bank is for storing ice cubes only and should not be used for making ice directly, as it may break.
- Cell Fresh Crisper: This feature helps keep vegetables fresh by retaining moisture, preventing them from rotting.
- Humidity Controller: Humidity in the vegetable box can be adjusted using a left/right switch.
- Smart Diagnosis: Available on models with the or logo, this feature helps diagnose and solve problems with the appliance using the LG ThinQ application. It supports audible diagnosis, where users can follow instructions in the app to transmit diagnostic tones to the service center.
- Smart Connect (for selected models): This feature allows the refrigerator to run on a UPS/Inverter with a minimum capacity of 600 VA and a 120Ah battery. During Smart Connect Mode, the refrigerator operates on basic energy requirements, and it's recommended to switch off other unused appliances for optimum performance.
- Deodorizer: This feature helps mitigate unpleasant odors in the fresh food compartment. It is located in the cooling air path and requires no special handling. For strong-smelling foods, it's advised to wrap them or store them in lidded containers to prevent odor transfer. The deodorizer can be revived and reused if the odor is strong.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: The manual advises against using rough brushes, toothpaste, or flammable materials (alcohol, thinner, bleach, benzene, etc.) for cleaning the appliance, as this may cause discoloration or damage. Water or dust should be removed from the power plug, and the plug should be inserted securely.
- LED Replacement: The LED light in the refrigerator cannot be replaced by the user. Contact an authorized service center for lamp replacement.
- Food Storage Suggestions:
- Cover food with vinyl wrap or store it in a lidded container to prevent moisture evaporation and retain taste/nutrients.
- Avoid placing hot milk or food in the refrigerator, as this increases temperature and power consumption.
- Do not overload the refrigerator or cover shelves with paper/plastic sheets, as it reduces efficiency.
- Avoid frequent door openings to prevent warm air entry and temperature rise.
- Ensure the door closes properly with no gap between the gasket and the cabinet.
- Wipe excessive moisture from food or store it in containers/plastic net bags to retain freshness longer.
- Do not store foods that spoil easily at low temperatures (e.g., bananas, pineapples).
- Do not store glass bottles in the freezer compartment, as they may break when frozen.
- Avoid placing moist food directly on deep interior refrigerator shelves to prevent freezing; use covered containers instead.
- Store moist food (especially vegetables and fruits) in the vegetable storage compartment. If placed on a shelf, keep it close to the door and away from the back wall to avoid freezing.
- Store eggs in their storage tray, ensuring they are fresh and stored upright for longer freshness.
- Avoid storing high-moisture vegetables and fruits in chill compartments, as they may freeze.
- Vacations: For average-length vacations, leave the refrigerator running with freezable items in the freezer. For extended periods (3 days or more), remove all food, unplug the power cord, clean the interior, and leave doors slightly ajar to prevent odor. Allow 6-8 hours for stabilization before restarting.
- Shifting: When moving the refrigerator, two people should carry it for safety. Fasten the door with tape or lock to prevent it from opening.
- Disposal: When discarding the refrigerator, remove the door gasket. The product is covered by E-Waste Management Rules India and should be handed over to an authorized recycler. Do not open the product yourself, mix it with household waste, or resell it to unauthorized agencies. Contact LG Customer Information Centre for disposal.
Safety Instructions:
The manual emphasizes reading all instructions carefully before use.
