3. TECHNICAL BRIEF
3.22.2. DCXO : RF block 2 (SGR)
The RF-Subsystem contains a fully integrated 26 MHz digitally controlled crystal oscillator. The only
external part of the oscillator is the crystal itself. The overall pulling range of the DCXO is approximately
±70 ppm, distributed over eight subranges and controlled by a 13-bit tuning word. The subrange closest
to the 0 ppm at the middle AFC-value is selected during the calibration process in production. The
selected subrange number will be stored in the software and used for the mobile station’s lifetime.
Figure 2 shows a simplified diagram of the clock distribution.
