Do you have a question about the LG WD-1244RDS and is the answer not in the manual?
This document is the owner's manual for an LG Fully Automatic Washing Machine, covering models WD-1244(0~9)RDS, WD-1444(0~9)RDS, WD-1644(0~9)RDS, and GL-5014WRD.
The LG Fully Automatic Washing Machine is designed to provide efficient and convenient laundry care. It features a Direct Drive System with an advanced Brushless DC motor that directly drives the drum without a belt and pulley, enhancing durability and reducing noise. The Water Circulation feature ensures continuous spray detergent solution and water onto the load, allowing clothes to be soaked more quickly and thoroughly during the wash cycle. The detergent suds can be removed more easily by the water shower during the rinse cycle, and the water circulation system uses both water and detergent more efficiently.
For user comfort, the machine includes a Built-in Heater that automatically heats the water to the best temperature for selected cycles. A Child Lock function prevents children from pressing any button to change the settings during operation. The More Economical by Intelligent Wash System intelligently detects the amount of load and water temperature, then determines the optimum water level and washing time to minimize energy and water consumption.
To ensure quiet operation, the Low noise speed control system senses the amount of load and balance, distributing the load to minimize spinning noise. The Steam Washing and Refresh feature uses upgraded washing performance with low energy consumption, and the Refresh cycle reduces wrinkles from dry clothes. An Automatic Wash Load Detection system automatically detects the load and optimizes the washing time.
The washing machine is a front-loading model.
Accessories include an inlet hose (1EA) and a spanner.
The washing machine offers various programs tailored to different fabric types and washing needs. These include:
Each program can be customized with options for Water Temperature (Cold, 30°C, 40°C, 60°C, 95°C), Spin Speed (No Spin, 400, 800, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600 rpm depending on model), and additional functions like Intensive, Pre Wash, Rinse+, and Medic Rinse.
Starting a Wash:
Time Delay: The Time Delay function allows users to set a delayed start time for the wash cycle, from 3:00 to 19:00 hours.
Steam Wash: The Steam Wash function is available for Cotton, Synthetic, and Allergy Care programs, offering improved washing performance with low energy consumption.
Child Lock: To activate, press and hold the Rinse+ and Medic Rinse buttons simultaneously for three seconds. To deactivate, repeat the process.
Tub Clean: This special cycle helps clean the inside of the washer. It uses higher water level with higher spin speed. To use, remove any clothing or items from the washer, add anti limescale (Calgon) to the main wash compartment, and then press Power, select Tub Clean, and press Start/Pause.
Drying Automatic Guide: The machine uses electronic sensors to measure the temperature of the exhaust to increase or decrease drying temperatures for faster reaction time and tighter temperature control. The estimated drying time varies with the actual drying time with an Automatic, the type of fabric, size of the load, and the dryness selected affect drying time. The standard laundry weight for drying is up to 4kg.
Water Inlet Filter: To clean, turn off the water tap, unscrew the water inlet hose, clean the filter using a hard bristle brush, and then tighten the inlet hose. This should be done if an "IE" error message appears on the control panel, indicating that water does not enter the detergent drawer.
Drain Pump Filter: The drain filter collects threads and small objects left in the laundry. To clean, open the lower cover cap, pull out the drain plug to allow water to flow out, remove any foreign material from the pump filter, and then clean and reinsert the drain plug and cover cap. This is recommended if a "OE" error message appears.
Dispenser Drawer: After a while, detergents and fabric softeners may leave a deposit in the drawer. It should be cleaned from time to time with a jet of running water. The upper part of the fabric softener compartment can be removed for easier cleaning.
Drawer Recess: Detergent can also accumulate inside the recess, which should be cleaned occasionally with an old toothbrush. After finishing cleaning, replace the drawer and run a rinse cycle without laundry.
Washing Drum: If you live in a hard water area, limescale may continuously build up in places where it cannot be seen and thus not easily removed. Over time, the build-up of scale clogs appliances, and if it is not kept in check, these may have to be replaced. The washing drum is made of Stainless steel; specks of rust can be caused by small metal articles (paper clips, safety pins) which have been left in the drum. The washing drum should be cleaned from time to time. If you use descaling agents, dyes or bleaches, make sure they are suitable for washing machine use. Descaler may contain chemicals that may damage part of your washing machine. Remove any spots with a stainless steel cleaning agent. Never use steel wool.
Water Circulation Nozzle & Steam Nozzle: Clean the water circulation nozzle and Steam nozzle if clogged.
Cleaning Your Washer Exterior: The exterior of your washer can be cleaned with warm water and a neutral non-abrasive household detergent. Immediately wipe off any spills. Wipe with a damp cloth. Do not try to hit the surface with sharp objects. Do not use methylated spirits, diluents or similar products.
Cleaning Your Washer Interior: Dry around the washer door opening, flexible gasket and door glass. Run the washer through a complete cycle using hot water. Repeat the process if necessary. Hard water deposits using only cleaners labeled as safe for washing machine.
Winterizing Instructions: If the washer is stored in an area where freezing may occur or moved in freezing temperatures, follow these instructions to prevent damage to the washer:
