  • Unit Weight: 80.00 lbs.
  • Construction Materials: Steel cooking chamber, steel coated lid, steel hopper lid, enamel cooking grate, steel fire pot, steel heat deflector, steel drip pan, aluminum handles, rollerblade style wheels, locking caster wheels.
  • Safety Features: Fail-proof lid stops, spill-proof drip bucket hook, rubber grommets at wire through holes to prevent chaffing, vented component access panels.
  • Ventilation: 3 exhaust vent holes
  • Hardware: Steel hardware, high temperature RTV caulk

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel: Features a digital display for temperature readout, power ON/OFF button, Temp UP/DOWN buttons for adjusting set temperature, Set Point Indicator Light, Meat Probe Port, Meat Indicator Light, Temp Display Button (toggles between actual/set point), Actual Indicator Light, and Probe Temp Button (toggles between meat probes A/B).
  • Temperature Probe: Includes a single meat probe that plugs into the controller port and feeds through a dedicated port hole on the left side of the cooking chamber. It is recommended to insert the probe into the thickest portion of meat for accuracy.
  • Initial Setup Procedure: Requires removing packing materials, checking the hopper for foreign objects, plugging into a GFCI outlet, adding a small amount of pellets to the fire pot for self-priming, filling the hopper, washing cooking grates, reinstalling components, and performing an initial burn-in at 400°F for one hour to cure the grill and remove manufacturing residues.
  • Cooking Recommendations: Always cook with the lid closed to maintain temperature and airflow. Use the meat probe for accurate internal food temperatures. Preheat the grill to the desired cooking temperature before introducing food.
  • Pellet Handling: Pellets should be stored in a dry place to prevent swelling and breakdown into sawdust. Only use premium 100% hardwood pellets; avoid heating fuel pellets for stoves as they may contain glue.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the grill not lighting, excessive or discolored smoke, grill not heating properly, fire going out, flare-ups, excessive grease build-up, smoke from the hopper, and error codes (ER1, ER2, ER3).
  • Manual Start-Up: In case of igniter failure, the grill can be manually started by removing grates, drip pan, and flame deflector, cleaning the fire pot, placing 1/2 cup of pellets and a solid fuel fire starter in the fire pot, lighting the starter, and then turning on the grill once pellets are burning briskly. Caution: Flammable liquids like gasoline or kerosene should never be used.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Cleaning:
    • Clean the fire pot every 3-5 cooks to ensure proper airflow.
    • Clean cooking grates with a grill brush after every cook.
    • Cover the drip pan with aluminum foil and change it frequently, especially after low and slow cooks, to prevent grease fires at high temperatures.
    • Clean ash from the interior, fire pot, and hopper every 5-6 bags of pellets. A Shop-Vac is recommended for ash removal, but always wait at least 12 hours after cooking.
    • Clean the exterior of the grill with mild soap and water; avoid caustic cleaners.
    • For a superior shine, clean outside surfaces when cool and use automotive wax.
  • Probe Maintenance: Unplug the probe and clean it with a damp cloth to prolong its life and accuracy. Reinstall the rubber protector over the connection port after each cook. Do not fully submerge the probe in water or wash it in a dishwasher.
  • Pellet Hopper Maintenance: Check the pellet hopper for debris and remove excess pellet dust as needed. If the grill will not be used for six weeks or more, it is recommended to clean out all pellets from the hopper.
  • Storage: Ensure the unit is cool before storing. Remove grates, drip pan, and flame deflector, and ensure no unburnt fuel remains. Store the grill covered in a dry, safe place. Never store or transport the grill in a small space or vehicle unless it is completely cool and the fire is extinguished. Never move the grill while it is hot or without assistance.
  • Long-Term Storage: If the grill is not used for six weeks or more, remove all pellets. When not in use, unplug and cover the grill.
