Function Description

The Octamoon watch serves as a precise timekeeping device with additional complications. It displays the hour, minute, and second, along with the current date, weekday, and moon phase. The watch is designed to show how the moon currently appears in the sky, based on an average new moon cycle of approximately 29.5 days. The moon phases displayed include New Moon, First Quarter Moon, Full Moon, and Last Quarter Moon.

Usage Features

The Octamoon watch offers several user-adjustable features:

Setting the Time (without date and weekday display - Caliber 6P24):

  1. Pull out the crown to Position 3.
  2. Turn the crown to adjust the hour and minute hands to the desired time.
  3. Once the time is set, push the crown back into Position 1 to start the second hand.

Setting the Time (with date and weekday display - Caliber 6P20):

  • Setting the Weekday:

    1. Pull the crown out to Position 3 to stop the second hand at 0 (12 o'clock).
    2. Turn the hour/minute hand clockwise until you reach the correct weekday. For each weekday, you must advance the hour hand by 24 hours. The weekday display will jump to the next day between 0:00 and 5:30 (or slightly later) every night.
    3. Please note: Do not turn the crown counterclockwise, as it may cause the weekday to not change correctly.

  • Adjusting the Exact Time (after setting weekday):

    1. With the crown still in Position 3, turn the hour and minute hands clockwise to set the exact time.
    2. Please note: Be careful not to confuse AM/PM settings. Use the weekday as a reference; when the weekday changes, it is in the morning.
    3. After setting the time, push the crown back into Position 1 to start the second hand.

  • Setting the Date:

    1. Pull out the crown halfway to Position 2.
    2. Turn the crown counterclockwise to set the desired date.
    3. Please note: Do not set the date between 9:00 PM and 12:30 AM, as it may not switch correctly to the next day.

Setting the Moon Phase:

  1. Pull out the crown halfway to Position 2.
  2. Turn the crown clockwise to adjust the moon phase to the one closest to the current age of the moon (New Moon, First Quarter Moon, Full Moon, or Last Quarter Moon).
  3. To verify the current moon phase, you can check a newspaper or the internet.
  4. Once the moon phase is set, push the crown back into Position 1.

Changing the Strap:

  1. Press the pin inwards on the strap.
  2. Change the wristband.
  3. Click the pin back into the holes to secure the new strap.

Maintenance Features

To ensure the longevity and appearance of your Octamoon watch, follow these care instructions:

  • Water Resistance: The watch is water-resistant up to 5 ATM, meaning it is well-protected from small splashes of water. However, deep-sea diving is not recommended.
  • Battery Replacement: If the battery runs out of power, it can be easily replaced by a trusted jeweler or watchmaker.
  • Leather Straps: Natural leather straps may change their appearance over time and develop a unique patina.
  • Cleaning: Specks of dust can be easily wiped away with a damp cloth. Avoid getting the strap too wet.
  • Stainless Steel Straps: Straps made from stainless steel are resistant to the effects of humidity.
