The Linkplay Wireless Smart Audio Module (A98M Series) is a third-generation smart audio module designed for integration into connected speakers, soundbars, and other audio devices. It supports both "voice built-in" and "work with voice" applications, making it a versatile solution for modern audio products.
Function Description:
The A98M module integrates a low-power Broadcom BCM43456 Wi-Fi/BT chip and an Amlogic A113X application processor, specifically designed for connected audio applications. Its core features include a powerful CPU subsystem, an advanced multi-format audio processing unit, and a secure running environment, along with essential peripherals, all optimized for low-power audio SoC.
The main system CPU is a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53, featuring L1 instruction/data cache for each core and a large unified L2 cache to enhance system performance. Each Cortex-A53 CPU can operate up to 1.2 GHz (with DVFS + hot plug). For low-power consumption, when the system is suspended, the main CPU can be powered off, and the Cortex-M3 in the always-on power domain can resume the system from multiple interrupt sources.
The audio processing engine (APE) is based on ARM® NEON™ general-purpose SIMD architecture, working seamlessly with the main CPU to accelerate multimedia processing algorithms and improve user experience. It supports decoding of all major high-resolution audio formats, including MP3, AAC, WMA, RM, FLAC, Ogg, etc., with the flexibility to support future audio encoding/decoding standards.
The module supports all standard audio input/output interfaces, such as multiple TDM, PCM, I2S, and SPDIF digital audio input/output interfaces, and 8-channel far-field PDM digital microphone (DMIC) inputs. Audio input includes a power detector for waking up from low activity states. Dedicated hardware-assisted synchronization blocks are integrated for multi-room audio applications. Additionally, audio input data can be restricted to trusted memory space to protect audio privacy.
