Connect the coax cable from your wall outlet to the connector labeled “Cable” on
the back of the modem.
• Turn off power to any modems and routers on your home network.
• Turn off power to the PC that will be used to activate this device.
• Have the following information available for modem activation (Step 3):
o Account number associated with your broadband subscription
o The phone number associated with your account
o Serial number of your new Linksys cable modem (on the back of the unit)
o MAC address of your new Linksys cable modem (on the back of the unit)
