Turntable (1)
A record player - for playing vinyl records. Also known as a Phonograph, a word seldom heard these days,
but shortened to Phono, it is still used today to describe all things relating to turntables.
Turntable (2)
(CD players) - A circular platform on the CD mechanism to which the CD is clamped and spun round by the
disc motor below. Also sometimes known as the ‘Disc motor’ but this refers more specifically to the motor
below the turntable.
Twisted Pair
In a Knekt system, we use 8-way cable (see CAT5) between rooms and devices which is separated into 4
pairs. Each pair has what we call a ‘twist’, ie At the plug which terminates the cable there are 8 terminals
numbered 1 to 8. To be wired correctly, a wire which is connected to (eg) 1 at one end must be connected to
8 at the other. If connected to 2 at one end, must be 7 at the other and so on.
