Lubricating your Locomotive
K-Line by Lionel engines are designed to provide years of quality operation with little mainte-
nance required. Periodically apply gear lubricant to the truck drive gears located on one side
of each truck frame. Do not over lubricate as excess lubricant will fall on the track and hinder
electrical contact and wheel traction. Oil wheel bearing sparingly. Always lubricate and oil
a locomotive after prolonged storage. A Lionel Lubrication and Maintenance Kit
available at your K-Line by Lionel dealer.
Your powered locomotive is equipped with traction tires
(Lionel Part #620-1458-108)
rubber tires increase the tractive effort of your locomotive, allowing it to pull more cars at
once. During the course of normal operations, the traction tires may become worn out. Be-
cause you must remove the trucks and the side frames to access the wheels, we recommend
that you have the traction tires replaced by your authorized Lionel Service Center.
Replacing your traction tires
During the course of normal operations you may also need to replace the bulbs on your loco-
