Overview

The LivePure Air Purifier & Humidifier is a versatile home appliance designed to improve indoor air quality and maintain optimal humidity levels. This owner's manual provides comprehensive instructions for its setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring users can maximize its performance and longevity.

Function Description:

The device serves a dual purpose: air purification and humidification. As an air purifier, it utilizes a HEPA filter to capture airborne particles, thereby cleaning the air. As a humidifier, it adds moisture to the air, which can be beneficial in dry environments. The unit features various operating modes, including different fan speeds, an accent light, a timer, and an auto mode that adjusts humidification based on room humidity. It also includes a "Waterless" indicator to alert users when the water tank needs refilling, and a "Filter Indicator" to signal when the HEPA filter requires cleaning or replacement.

Important Technical Specifications:

The manual lists several models: LP460APH, LP460APH-BLK, LP460APH-GRA, LP460APH-SAG, and LP460APH-WHT, indicating different color options for the same core device. Key components include:

  • HEPA Filter: Recommended for replacement every 6 months (approximately 4,320 hours of continuous use). It is crucial for air purification.
  • Pre-Filter: Should be cleaned every 3 months (approximately 2,160 hours of continuous use). It works in conjunction with the HEPA filter.
  • Synthetic Wick: Essential for water purification in the humidification process. It should be cleaned or replaced as needed, typically every 1-3 months, depending on water quality and environmental factors.
  • Power Source: The device uses a polarized plug, a safety feature where one blade is wider than the other, designed to fit into a polarized outlet only one way.
  • Remote Control Battery: Uses a Lithium Button Cell Battery (CR2025).

Usage Features:

  • Initial Setup: Involves unpacking, placing on a sturdy, flat surface, unraveling the cord, removing the top cover, filling the water tank with fresh, clean tap water (never hot water, and do not overfill), and reattaching the top cover.
  • Power ON/OFF: The unit is turned on by plugging it into a wall outlet and pressing the power switch. It beeps and lights up to indicate operation. To turn off, press the power switch and empty the water tank.
  • Refilling Water Tank: Instructions emphasize using fresh, clean tap water and not overfilling. The "Waterless" light indicates an empty tank, and the humidifier function will cease until refilled.
  • Control Panel & Remote Control: Both offer similar functionalities:
    • On/Off: Powers the unit on or off.
    • Speed/Sleep: Cycles through low, medium, high speeds, and sleep mode. The unit starts on low speed by default.
    • Accent Light: Turns the accent light on or off. It automatically turns on with the unit.
    • Timer: Sets the unit to run for 2, 4, or 8 hours, after which it automatically shuts off.
    • Auto Mode: Adjusts the running speed based on room humidity: high speed for humidity below 40%, medium for 41-69%, and low for above 70%. The goal is to maintain humidity between 41-69%.
    • Filter Indicator: Lights up when the HEPA filter needs cleaning. Press and hold to reset after cleaning or replacement.
  • Remote Control: Comes with a pre-installed battery (CR2025). Users must remove a pull tab before first use. It operates by pointing it at the front of the unit. Instructions are provided for battery replacement, emphasizing the correct battery type and proper disposal. A warning is included regarding keeping lithium batteries out of reach of small children due to ingestion hazards.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity.

  • Filter Maintenance:
    • Pre-Filter: Clean every 3 months (2,160 hours).
    • HEPA Filter: Clean or replace every 6 months (4,320 hours).
    • Cleaning Procedure: Power off and unplug, remove the back grille, remove the filter from the compartment, separate the pre-filter from the HEPA filter, clean or replace both, reattach the pre-filter to the HEPA filter, place back in the compartment, replace the grille, and reset the filter indicator light by pressing and holding the button until it beeps 3 times.
    • Important Note: DO NOT use water, liquids, or detergents to clean filters. Remove all packaging from new filters before replacement.
  • Cleanable Wick (Synthetic Wick) Maintenance:
    • Cleaning Frequency: Clean every 1-3 months, depending on water quality.
    • Cleaning Procedure: Power off and unplug, ensure the water tank is empty, remove the top cover, remove the tank by its handle, remove the wick from the tank (it may drip), rinse the wick with water and vinegar, allow it to air dry, place it back in the tank, place the tank back in the unit, and replace the top cover.
    • Important Note: DO NOT use detergents to clean the wick.
  • Daily Maintenance (Water Tank):
    • Refill the water tank daily to prevent odor from sitting water and hard water buildup.
    • Cleaning Procedure: Turn off and unplug, remove the top cover, lift out the water tank by its handle, drain any remaining water, shake gently, rinse thoroughly with water, empty, and wipe with a dry, soft cloth. Wipe the product base with a dry cloth if necessary. Refill and resume use.
    • Important Notes: ALWAYS unplug before cleaning. NEVER allow water to sit in the tank when not in use. Hard water can cause calcium and magnesium buildup, which can impair humidifier function.
  • Cleaning the Unit:
    • Clean as often as needed to remove white powder buildup from hard water.
    • Procedure: Wipe off the surface and base, then rinse the surface and base with clean water.

Troubleshooting:

The manual addresses common issues:

  • Excessive Noise: Check if the water tank is correctly attached and if the product is on a stable, flat surface.
  • Product Not Working Properly: Verify power connection, ensure the water tank has enough water (not too much), and check if the filter is excessively dirty.
  • Abnormal Mist Smell: For new units, air out the tank for 12 hours. For older units, clean the water tank and add fresh water.
  • Not Enough Mist: Clean the synthetic wick and the unit to remove calcium and magnesium buildup. Also, check if the water is dirty or has been sitting too long, and clean the tank with fresh water.
