Why is my Living & Co Microwave Oven smoking during baking?

During initial use, minimal smell and smoke for about 15 minutes is normal due to the protective substance on the heating elements. Smoke during baking can also be caused by a dirty multi-use pan or interior, excess fat, or a faulty power cord. Cut off excess fat prior to baking to reduce smoke. If the smoke comes from the power cord, stop using the appliance and unplug it.
