Overview

This document provides an instruction manual for a Livoo gas griddle made of stainless steel. It outlines safety advice, usage characteristics, lighting instructions, connection procedures, storage guidelines, and cleaning and care recommendations to ensure safe and effective operation of the appliance.

Function Description

The Livoo gas griddle is designed for outdoor cooking, providing a safe and easy-to-use appliance for preparing food. It operates on gas, utilizing burners to heat a cooking plate, and is equipped with control knobs to adjust the flame intensity. The griddle is designed to be used with specific types of gas (butane, propane, or mixtures) at correct pressures, requiring a regulator and a flexible hose for connection to a gas cylinder. A grease tray is included to manage cooking residues, ensuring a cleaner cooking experience. The appliance is built with a focus on combustion efficiency and adequate ventilation, making it suitable for outdoor environments.

Usage Features

The griddle's operation begins with careful assembly according to the provided instructions. Users must connect the gas hose to the barbecue and the regulator to the hose, then attach the regulator to the gas cylinder valve. Before turning on the gas supply, all control knobs must be in the 'OFF' position. The gas supply is then turned 'ON' at the cylinder or regulator switch.

For lighting the main burners, the user pushes down and turns the control knob anticlockwise to the 90° position (Full rate position). An audible click indicates ignition. If a burner fails to light after two attempts, the gas tap should be turned 'OFF', and the user should wait 5 minutes before retrying. Once lit, the burner rate can be adjusted by turning the knob anticlockwise between full and low rate positions. Subsequent burners are lit from left to right. For the right burner, the user presses the right button, turns it counter-clockwise to the "big flame" position, and simultaneously presses the ignition button (located between the two buttons) four times in quick succession. If ignition fails after two tries, the gas inlet should be cut by turning the button to "Stop," waiting 5 minutes, and then retrying. Power adjustment is done by turning the button to "small flame" or "big flame." To switch off the griddle, the gas inlet is cut by turning the valve or regulator to "Stop," and all burner buttons are turned clockwise to the "Stop" position.

It is crucial not to move the appliance during cooking or when it is operating, as the accessible parts can become very hot. The gas cylinder should always be placed at the left-hand rear of the appliance, as far away as possible without straining the hose, and both the appliance and cylinder must be on a level surface. The appliance is designed for outdoor use only, and adequate ventilation is essential for safe and efficient performance. When wind speeds exceed 2m/s, the gas grill should not be used facing the wind. After use, the appliance should be turned off at the cylinder valve or regulator. Any modifications to the appliance are dangerous and can cause injury or property damage. The manufacturer's sealed parts should not be manipulated by the user. The appliance must be installed with a clearance of 1 meter around it, and local distribution conditions (gas type and pressure) must be compatible with the appliance's adjustments. The griddle should not be used near flammable materials, and its use in enclosed areas is strictly prohibited.

Maintenance Features

Maintaining the Livoo gas griddle involves regular cleaning and care to ensure its longevity and safe operation. All cleaning and maintenance procedures should be performed when the barbecue is cool and with the fuel supply turned 'OFF' at the gas cylinder. It is recommended that the gas grill be serviced annually by a competent engineer. Users should not attempt to service the appliance themselves.

For the outside surface, a mild detergent or baking soda and hot water solution can be used. Stubborn stains may require a non-abrasive scouring powder, followed by rinsing with water. If the inside surface of the barbecue lid shows peeling paint, this indicates baked-on grease that has carbonized and is flaking off; it should be cleaned thoroughly with a strong hot soapy water solution, rinsed, and allowed to dry completely. Oven cleaner should never be used.

The interior of the barbecue bottom should be cleaned by removing residue with a brush, scraper, or cleaning pad, then washing with a soapy water solution, rinsing, and drying.

Plastic surfaces require a soft cloth and hot soapy water solution for cleaning, followed by rinsing. Abrasive cleaners, degreasers, or concentrated barbecue cleaners should not be used on plastic parts.

The cooking plate can be cleaned with a mild soapy water solution. Non-abrasive scouring powder can be used for stubborn stains, followed by rinsing with water.

The grease tray should not be opened during use. Users should check the grease drain and empty the tray when it is about one-third full.

For cleaning the burner assembly, the gas should be turned 'OFF' at the control knob, and the cylinder disconnected. The cooling grate should be removed. The burner can be cleaned with a soft brush, blown clean with compressed air, and wiped with a cloth. Clogged ports can be cleared with a pipe cleaner or stiff wire (like an opened paper clip). The burner should be inspected for any damage such as cracks or holes; if damage is found, the burner must be replaced. When reinstalling the burner, ensure that the gas valve orifices are correctly positioned and secured inside the burner inlet (venturi). If the barbecue lights back due to an insect or spider web inside the burner venturi, a bottle brush can be inserted through the venturi and pushed into the burner over its length to rectify the issue. If the problem persists, a gas dealer should be consulted.

Before storage, the appliance should be cleaned of excess fat with a damp cloth and mild detergent solution. It should be stored in a clean, dry environment. The gas cylinder should never be stored indoors but in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, in an upright position, out of reach of children, and away from temperatures exceeding 50°C, flames, pilot lights, or other ignition sources. Smoking near the cylinder is prohibited, and cylinder changes should occur away from any ignition source. The maximum weight of the cylinder is 6.75KGS. When not in use, the cylinder must be disconnected, and its protective cap replaced.

Regular checks for leaks are essential. A leak detecting solution (one part washing-up liquid to three parts water) should be applied to the hose and all joints after connecting the regulator to the cylinder and the hose to the grill, with the gas turned 'ON'. Bubbles indicate a leak, which must be rectified before use. If a leak is found, the gas supply must be turned 'OFF'. If leakage cannot be rectified, a gas dealer should be consulted. Never use a naked flame to check for leaks.

The hose used must conform to the relevant standard for the country of use, with a maximum length of 1.5 meters. Worn or damaged hoses must be replaced. The hose should not be obstructed, kinked, or in contact with any part of the barbecue other than its connection point. The regulator's life expectancy is estimated at 10 years, and it is recommended to change it within this period. Using the wrong regulator or hose is unsafe.
