Why does my LOBSTER R1A1 require more triggers to complete riveting?
    • M
      Mr. Lucas ChristensenAug 12, 2025
If your LOBSTER Rivet Tools requires more triggers than usual to finish riveting, there might be a few reasons. First, ensure the rivet length matches the workpiece thickness. Then, check the compressor air pressure to ensure it's correct. Also, a Jaw Case that's incorrectly assembled can cause this issue, so inspect its assembly. Worn Jaws can also lead to this problem, so consider replacing them. Finally, insufficient hydraulic oil can result in a shorter stroke, so add more hydraulic oil if needed.

What to do if the LOBSTER R1A1 piston does not operate smoothly?
    • T
      tashajohnsonNov 2, 2025
If the LOBSTER Rivet Tools piston isn't working smoothly, several factors could be at play. First, ensure that the supplied air pressure is neither too high nor too low by adjusting it to the appropriate level. If the issue persists, the Cylinder Cup might be contaminated, or the Air Piston may lack lubrication. Clean the Cylinder Cup and apply grease to the inner surface and the O-ring to resolve this. Also ensure that the Vacuum Button is fully pressed from the 'ON' side. Another potential cause is an over accumulation of cut mandrels in the tank, which requires removing the Tank Case Unit and discarding the cut mandrels. A clogged Guide Tube can also impede performance; remove the Guide Tube to discard any obstructing cut mandrels. Lastly, check the Tank Case Sponge for clogs and clean ...

What to do if the rivet does not go in with LOBSTER R1A1?
    • A
      Alexander AndersenNov 21, 2025
If the rivet isn't going in or the cut mandrel isn't coming out after riveting with your LOBSTER Rivet Tools, it could be due to several reasons. First, check that you're using the correct Nosepiece or Guide Tube for the rivet size and replace it if necessary. Ensure the Nosepiece or Frame Head ‘CJM’ is securely tightened with a spanner. An incorrectly assembled Jaw Case can also cause this, so verify its assembly. Clean the Jaws and the inside of the Jaw Case Head, and apply “LOBSTER” brand lubricant oil to the back of Jaws, if friction is the problem. If the Cylinder Cup is dirty, clean it and apply grease inside the cylinder and to the O-ring. If there's excess hydraulic oil, loosen the Bleed Plug to drain it. Lastly, check for and eliminate any mandrels clogging the Jaw Pusher or the G...
