VDC allowing it to be powered in a number of different ways. After plugging in
the micro-USB end of the supplied USB cable, the A-male end can then be
plugged into any standard A-female USB port. You can also wire the unit directly
to the vehicle 12 VDC system by cutting off the A-male end of the USB cable and
using the white (positive) and black (ground) internal wires to connect to the
corresponding supplies of positive and ground on the vehicle system. Some
USB cables may also have 2 additional internal wires for data transmission which
can be left unstripped and ignored for this method of wiring for external power.
Once connected to an external power source you may want to enable the Run
Continuously option located on the apps Settings screen.
Note: It is recommended that you remove the battery from the LevelMatePRO+
if you are externally powering the unit. Leaving the battery installed when
externally powering will cause no harm to the LevelMatePRO+, but in general
removing batteries from electronic devices when they are not being used is a
good practice and avoids any damage that could be caused by battery leakage if
left in for a long period of time.
Note: The LevelMatePRO+ does not have a rechargeable internal battery so the
micro-USB port is not functional for recharging, only for externally powering the
system.
