NOTE :
IGNITION AND THERMOSTARTER CONTROL SWITCH
IS
OPERATIVE
ONLY WITH IGNITION KEY SET TO POSITION 1, 2, 3
OR
4 (Fig. 14) .
Cold-weather starting
If
outdoor
temperature
is
low
and the engine cold,
proceed
as
follows:
- carry
out
the first four
operations
recommended
for
starting the
engine;
-
switch
thermostarter on
turning
the i
gnit
ion and
thermostarter
control
swit
ch lev
er
to positi on - (fig. 15). Keep the lever in this position for 10
-1
5
seconds;
- rotate
swit
ch lever further to
posit
ion 2 (fig. 15) and press starting aid
button 8 (fig. 12) in. As soon
as
engine is started , release hold on
switch
lever
a
nd
pull the starting aid button
out;
- pull
radiator
shutter
down;
if this is
not
provided, use some other suitable
means.
NOTE:
IF
AFTER TWO
OR
THREE STARTING ATTEMPTS WITH THE THERMO-
STARTER ON , THE ENGINE WILL
NOT
START, TRY STARTING WITHOUT
THERMOSTARTER.
CAUTION!
While
the
engine
is
running
,
leave
the
ignition
key
in
one
of
the
fi
r
st
four
positions
(t
ig.
14
):
this
will
allow
battery
charging
and
the
operation
of
the
fuel
level
gauge
and
the
coolant
temperature
indicator.
For
a
few
minutes
let
the
engine
run
at
low
speed
and
then
move
off
.
