After Every 120 Hours' Operation:
9. CHECKING FAN V-BEL T TENSION. Depressing the belt midway between
alternator and crankshaft disc , with a load of 11 to 15.4 lb. (5-7 kg .)
deflection must be .39 to .59 in . (10 to 15 mm .). Adjust by slackening
alternator retaining screws and pulling alternator body until correct
tautness is obtained.
10. CHECKING BATTERY ELECTROLYTE LEVEL. Stop engine with tractor
level while the battery is cold; check for electrolyte level which should
exceed the plates by .39 to .59 in. (10-15 mm.). When electrolyte level
is
low , fill up with distilled water only .
