Function Description:

The Looptone TR-18CD is a versatile audio system designed to play various media formats. It features a classical turntable for vinyl records, an AM/FM radio for broadcast reception, a CD player for compact discs, a cassette recorder for audio cassettes, and USB/SD slots for digital audio files. The device also includes an auxiliary input for connecting external audio sources and Bluetooth input for wireless streaming from compatible devices like smartphones. A key feature is its encoding capability, allowing users to record audio from the turntable, cassette, CD, or auxiliary input directly to a USB drive or SD/MMC card in MP3 format.

Usage Features:

General Operation:

  • Power On/Off & Volume: Controlled by a single volume knob (clockwise to turn on, counterclockwise to turn off).
  • Function Selection: A function selector button allows switching between PHONO, TUNER (AM/FM), CD/USB/SD, TAPE/AUX, and Bluetooth modes.
  • Remote Control: Provides convenient operation for CD/USB/SD functions, including mute, program, repeat, skip, play/pause, record, and folder navigation.

Turntable Operation (Phono):

  • Dust Cover: Protects the turntable when not in use.
  • Lift Lever: Raises and lowers the tone arm gently onto the record.
  • Auto Stop Control: Can be set to ON to automatically stop the turntable at the end of a record, or OFF to continue turning.
  • Tone Arm Lock: Secures the tone arm during transport or when not in use.
  • Phono Encoding: Allows recording vinyl records directly to a USB drive or SD/MMC card. Users select the desired mode (USB or SD), press the REC button, and start playback. The recording speed is 1:1, and the format is MP3 at 128 kbps.

Radio Operation (Tuner):

  • Band Selection: Select AM, FM, or FM-Stereo.
  • Tuning: Use the tuning knob to automatically search for stations.
  • Reception Improvement: For AM, rotate or reposition the unit. For FM, unravel and adjust the wire antenna.

Cassette Operation:

  • Cassette Door: Opens to insert cassettes.
  • Cassette Buttons: Include RECORDER (copy from radio/phono/aux in/CD/USB/SD to tape), PLAYER (play tape tracks), REVERSE, FORWARD, STOP/EJECT, and PAUSE.
  • Cassette Playback: Insert tape, close door, press PLAYER.
  • Cassette Recording: Select source (RADIO/PHONO/AUX IN/CD/USB/SD), insert blank tape, press RECORDER and PLAYER simultaneously.
  • Cassette Encoding: Record from cassette to USB/SD. Similar to phono encoding, select USB or SD, press REC, and start cassette playback.

CD Operation:

  • Disk Tray Door: Opens and closes for CD insertion.
  • CD Playback: Place CD face up, close door, use skip buttons for track navigation.
  • CD Encoding: Record from CD to USB/SD. Select USB or SD, press REC, and start CD playback.

USB/SD Slot Operation:

  • Playback: Supports MP3/WMA files. Insert USB device or SD/MMC card, select USB/SD mode. The system automatically reads and displays folder/file count.
  • Playback Controls: PLAY/PAUSE, STOP, SKIP UP (next file/fast forward), SKIP DOWN (previous file/fast reverse), TUNING KNOB (folder search), REPEAT (one/all).
  • Programming Tracks: Up to 64 tracks can be programmed for playback in a specific order.
  • Copying Files: Copy single files, folders, or all files/tracks between USB and SD/MMC.
  • Deleting Files: Delete single files, folders, or all files/tracks from USB or SD/MMC.

Auxiliary Input (AUX IN):

  • Connection: Connect external audio devices (e.g., CD player) to the 3.5mm AUX IN socket.
  • Priority: Auxiliary input takes priority over cassette playback if connected.
  • AUX IN Encoding: Record from an auxiliary input device to a USB drive or SD/MMC card.

Bluetooth Input:

  • Pairing: Select BT mode, activate Bluetooth on your device, search for "Looptone," and select for pairing.
  • Playback: Stream audio wirelessly from paired devices.
  • Priority: Auxiliary input takes priority over Bluetooth input if connected.
  • Bluetooth Encoding: Record from a Bluetooth input source to a USB drive or SD/MMC card.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Clean the unit with a dry cloth only. Avoid chemical solvents.
  • Power Cord Protection: Protect the power cord from being walked on or kinked.
  • Ventilation: Do not block ventilation openings.
  • Heat Sources: Avoid installing near radiators, heaters, stoves, or other heat-producing apparatus.

  • CD Care: Ensure CDs are placed face up and are clean and undamaged. If not using for a long time, it is better to take the CD out from the disk tray door.
  • USB/SD Removal: Always switch to another mode (tuner, phono, tape) and turn off the power before removing USB devices or memory cards.
