The Proton Pro is a compact, durable, and versatile LED flashlight designed for a range of uses, from everyday tasks to emergency situations. It features a tough, ultra-light aluminum case with an easy-grip design, ensuring both durability and comfortable handling. The flashlight is waterproof, making it suitable for use in various weather conditions.

Function Description:

The Proton Pro offers both primary white LED illumination and a secondary red LED for specialized applications. The white LED provides powerful general lighting, while the red LED is ideal for preserving night vision or signaling. The device is designed to indicate low battery by simultaneously turning on the red LED with the white LED.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Output:
    • White LED: 1000+ candle power, 1.4W output
    • Red LED: 12 candle power, 150 mW
  • Battery Compatibility: Uses all AA batteries (Lithium, NiMH, NiCad, Alkaline, Carbon).

Usage Features:

Primary White LED Operation:

  1. Instant On/Off and Brightness Control:
    • Press and release the button to turn the light on or off.
    • Press and hold the button to dim the beam. Release the hold at the desired brightness level. A "blink" will indicate the lowest lighting level has been reached.
  2. Safety Beacons:
    • To activate, press and hold the button past the brightness control "blink." The Proton Pro will cycle through various safety beacons: Slow beacon, Medium beacon, Fast beacon, and SOS.
    • Release the button at the desired beacon mode.
  3. Signal/Morse Code (Squeeze Only Light):
    • Rapidly press the on/off button until the light no longer stays on.
    • To exit this mode, press and hold the button until the light turns off.

Secondary Red LED Operation:

  1. Press-Hold-Release to Turn On and Brightness Control:
    • Press and hold the button for a brighter red beam.
    • Release the hold at the desired brightness. The Proton Pro will blink at full brightness.
  2. Safety Beacons:
    • To activate, press and hold the button past the brightness control "blink." The Proton will cycle through various safety beacons: Slow beacon, Medium beacon, Fast beacon, and SOS.
    • Release the button at the desired beacon mode.
  3. Signal/Morse Code (Squeeze Only Light):
    • Press and instantly release the button when the red beam just comes on, then quickly turn off. Repeat this four times to enter red signal mode.
    • To exit this mode, press and hold the button until the light turns off.

Combined LED Operation:

  • To turn on both LEDs simultaneously: Press and hold the button, then instantly release when the red beam blinks for the second time. The red light will be blinking in SOS mode. Turn off the light, then turn it back on. All LEDs will now be on at the same time.
  • To return to regular functions, press and hold the button until the red beam turns on, then turn off.

Belt Clip:

  • Removal: Pull the belt clip firmly from the top of the clip.
  • Replacement: Simply slide the insert into the gap.
  • Insert Removal: Use the belt clip to push the insert out from the opposite side.

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Replacement: Unscrew the flashlight counter-clockwise to replace batteries. Exercise caution to avoid cross-threading. A special aluminum lubricant is used on the back tail threads to reduce the risk of cross-threading.
  • NiMH Battery Care: When using NiMH batteries, recharge them as soon as the low battery indicator appears to ensure they can accept a full charge.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • If the light does not turn on, check that the batteries are inserted correctly, observing polarity.
    • If the Proton Pro shuts off after a few seconds, hold the button down until the light turns off. This action removes it from "point of purchase mode."
  • Warranty: If your Proton Pro fails for any reason other than abuse or battery expiration, it can be returned for a free repair or replacement.

Additional Tips:

  • The Proton Pro only dims from the primary white LED and brightens from the secondary red LED.
  • For quick SOS activation, press and hold, then release the button at the instant of the second blink after full dimness or full brightness.
