Install Digital Test Unit (DTU)
1.
NOTE:
The DTU consists of two units designated
DTU-L
(DTU-left) and
DTU-R
(DTU-right).
Get one
DTU-L
(
AUA18
) and one
DTU-R
(
AUA19
) and inspect for possible
physical damage.
2. Insert
DTU-L
into left-hand side of
DTU
slot in facility shelf.
Response: All bank indicators are off and no office alarms are active.
3. While observing
FAIL
indicator on
DTU-R
faceplate, insert
DTU-R
into
right-hand side of
DTU
slot in facility shelf.
Response:
DTU-R FAIL
indicator lights momentarily. All bank indicators
are off and no office alarms are active.
4. Does
FAIL
indicator on
DTU-R
go off and remain off?
If
YES,
then proceed to Step
9.
If
NO,
then continue with Step
5.
5. Replace both
DTU-L
and
DTU-R
while observing
FAIL
indicator on
DTU-R
faceplate.
Response:
DTU-R FAIL
indicator lights momentarily.
6. Does
FAIL
indicator on
DTU-R
go off and remain off?
If
YES,
then proceed to Step
9.
If
NO,
then continue with Step
7.
7. Replace
DTU-L
and
DTU-R
with units removed previously.
8. Check wiring using SD-7C117-01 or SD-7C117-02. Repeat procedure from
Step
4
after locating and correcting trouble.
