Convert Series 5 RT from Feature Package B Mode 2
to Feature Package B Mode 1
DO ITEMS BELOW IN ORDER LISTED FOR DETAILS, GO TO
1. This procedure assumes the following:
• That new digital line installation is completed for the B and D
digroups.
• That preservice tests have been completed and the digital
facility is operating properly. (AT&T 363-200-100 TOP con-
tains digital line preservice tests.)
• That proper connections have been made to the digital facility
at both the RT and central office.
2. Establish communication with central office personnel.
DLP-5073. Set
LIU
options (any version LIU can be used), with
Z
line coding,
on two LIU circuit packs but do not install the LIUs.

NOTE:
When an LIU is installed in the B or D LIU slot of an FPB
Mode 2 RT, the
FAIL
indicator will light because the RT is
configured for Mode 2 operation and these LIU slots should
not be equipped. If the LIU is functioning properly, the
FAIL
indicator will go off while the ADU
LED TEST
button is
pressed.
Install LIU in
LIU B
slot and verify the
FAIL
indicator lights. Then
press and hold the ADU
LED TEST
button and verify the LIU
FAIL
indicator goes off. If either of the above indications do not
happen, replace LIU.
5. Install LIU in
LIU D
slot and verify the
FAIL
indicator lights. Then
press and hold the ADU
LED TEST
button and verify the LIU
FAIL
indicator goes off. If either of the above indications do not
happen, replace LIU.
