Why won't my Lumberjack Log Splitter engine start?
    • A
      adamballardAug 14, 2025
If the engine of your Lumberjack Log Splitter fails to start, make sure the spark plug wire is connected. Check if the fuel tank is empty or the fuel is stale; if so, fill it with clean, fresh gasoline. If equipped, ensure the choke is in the CHOKE position. Inspect the spark plug for faults and clean, adjust the gap, or replace it if necessary. Also, check for a blocked fuel line and clean it. If your engine has a primer, make sure you prime it properly. Finally, ensure the throttle control lever is in the FAST position.

What to do if my Lumberjack YTL-590-111 Log Splitter engine runs erratically?
    • M
      Makayla LiuAug 18, 2025
If the engine of your Lumberjack Log Splitter runs erratically, first ensure the choke lever is in the OFF position. Check the spark plug wire to make sure it is connected and tightened. Inspect the fuel line for blockages or stale fuel, and clean the fuel line, refilling the tank with clean, fresh gasoline (less than 30 days old). Also, check for water or dirt in the fuel system; if present, drain the fuel tank and refill with clean, fresh fuel. Finally, inspect the air cleaner and clean or replace it if it's dirty.

Why does the engine stall on my Lumberjack YTL-590-111 Log Splitter when splitting wood?
    • H
      hobbsmichaelAug 25, 2025
If the engine of your Lumberjack Log Splitter stalls during splitting, it may be due to a low horsepower or weak engine. Also, avoid attempting to split wood against the grain, as this can overload the cylinder.

What to do if the cylinder rod is stuck on my Lumberjack Log Splitter?
    • G
      Guy AndersenAug 28, 2025
If your Lumberjack Log Splitter's cylinder rod is stuck, it may be due to blocked hydraulic lines. In this case, flush and clean the hydraulic system. Also, check the oil level and fill to the correct level if it's incorrect. Another possible reason is blocked directional valve, in this case, flush and clean the hydraulic system. Also, check the engine and pump alignment as necessary if the shaft coupling is loose.

Why won't my Lumberjack YTL-590-111 split wood, or splits too slowly?
    • R
      richardguerreroAug 31, 2025
If the engine on your Lumberjack Log Splitter runs, but the wood will not split or splits too slowly, check that pump inlet hoses are clear and unblocked. Also, check the oil level and fill to the correct level if needed. Drain the oil, clean the reservoir, and refill with clean oil if the oil is contaminated. Avoid attempting to split wood against the grain, as this can overload the cylinder.

How to fix slow cylinder shaft speed on my Lumberjack YTL-590-111?
    • D
      Daniel WilliamsSep 3, 2025
If your Lumberjack Log Splitter's cylinder shaft speed is slow while extending and retracting, check that pump inlet hoses are clear and unblocked. Use only short, large diameter inlet hoses to avoid excessive pump inlet vacuum. Check the oil level and fill to the correct level if it's incorrect. If the oil is contaminated, drain it, clean the reservoir, and refill with clean oil.
