Overview

The Teno is a versatile device that combines a speaker and a light, controlled primarily through intuitive touch gestures. Its design allows for both aesthetic appeal and practical functionality, making it suitable for various settings around the home or office.

Function Description

The core functions of the Teno revolve around its capabilities as a Bluetooth speaker and an adjustable light source. As a speaker, it delivers audio through a 45mm full-range driver and a passive radiator, powered by a 20W class-D amplifier. It supports Bluetooth version 5.0 for wireless connectivity with your devices. A key feature is True Stereo Pairing (TWS), which allows two Teno units to be synced for a more immersive stereo sound experience. The device also includes a noise-cancelling microphone, enabling hands-free calls with great clarity.

As a light source, the Teno utilizes a high-output LED with 250 lumens, emitting a soft warm white light at 2700k. The light offers four distinct brightness levels, providing flexibility for different moods and environments. The light function is activated by a simple physical interaction with the device, and its brightness can be adjusted with a touch.

The Teno is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh. This allows for portable use, with the speaker providing up to 8 hours of playback at 50% volume, and the light lasting up to 4 hours at 100% brightness. Charging is done via a USB-C charger, which is included, and takes approximately 5.5 hours for a full charge. A battery indicator, which glows white while charging and green when fully charged, keeps you informed of its power status.

Usage Features

The Teno's operation is highly touch-sensitive and gesture-based, designed for ease of use. To turn on the light, you simply separate the two halves of the device slightly. To activate the speaker and its Bluetooth connection, you fully separate the halves, at which point you'll hear a chime sound, indicating it's ready to connect. The Bluetooth connection is automatically discoverable by your device.

For audio playback and call management, the Teno offers several intuitive controls:

  • Play/Pause, Pick up/Hang up: A double tap on the top surface of either half performs these actions.
  • Reject call: A long hold on the top surface will reject an incoming call.
  • Volume adjustment: Sliding two fingers up or down along the curve at the center of the bowl allows you to increase or decrease the volume.

The light brightness is also controlled by touch:

  • Light activation/brightness change: A single tap at the center of the top surface will turn the light on or cycle through its four brightness levels (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%).

For advanced features and troubleshooting:

  • True Stereo Pairing (TWS): To sync two Teno units, turn both on. Then, using two fingers, double tap the bottom of the outer shell of either the left (L) or right (R) unit. A bird chirping sound confirms a successful connection.
  • Bluetooth disconnect: If you need to disconnect the Teno from a device, triple tap the bottom of the outer shell. You'll hear "wings fluttering" as an auditory confirmation of disconnection. If you encounter issues with Bluetooth, ensure it's not connected to another device, disconnect it first, and if problems persist, try closing and re-opening the Teno.
  • Reset: Most issues can be resolved by simply closing and re-opening the Teno. If a hard reset is needed, there's an invisible button next to the charging port that can be pressed.

Auditory cues are integrated into the Teno's operation to provide feedback:

  • Chime: Indicates the speaker is on or off.
  • Bird chirping: Confirms Bluetooth or TWS connection to a device.
  • Wings fluttering: Signals Bluetooth disconnection.
  • Water drops: Indicates a low battery level.

Maintenance Features

Maintaining the Teno involves simple cleaning procedures to preserve its appearance and functionality.

  • Fabric surfaces: For the high-grade acoustics fabric, dust should be wiped off using a dry, soft cloth. It's important to avoid liquid or aerosol cleaners on these surfaces. For stains or dirt, a melamine sponge cleaner (often known as a magic eraser) or a soft, damp cloth with a solution of water and mild detergent (like washing-up liquid) is recommended.
  • Outer shell: The cast resin and natural sand outer shell should be gently wiped with a soft, dry cloth. For dust removal in grooves or crack areas, a brush with soft bristles can be used. Crucially, do not spray water or cleaner directly onto any surface of the device.

These maintenance guidelines ensure the longevity and aesthetic appeal of the Teno, keeping it in optimal condition for continued enjoyment.
