Overview

This document describes the Luoran MP3 Player, a portable device designed for multimedia playback and storage.

Function Description

The Luoran MP3 Player serves as a versatile multimedia device, primarily functioning as an MP3 player but also supporting video playback, e-books, and photo viewing. It features a built-in speaker for direct audio output and a 3.5mm output for connecting headphones or external speakers. The device includes an FM radio function, which requires a wired headset to act as an antenna. For storage, it comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM, and its capacity can be expanded significantly via an SD Slot, supporting up to a 512GB TF/Micro-SD card. The player is equipped with a USB-C port for both charging and file transfer, ensuring modern connectivity. It also supports Bluetooth for wireless audio streaming.

Usage Features

The device offers straightforward controls for ease of use. The power button allows users to turn the device on by pressing and holding for 3 seconds when off. In the boot state, a 3-second long press activates shutdown options, including Power off, Restart, and Airplane mode. A short press of the power button turns the screen off or on. Volume adjustment is managed by dedicated +/- buttons.

Navigation within the device's interface is intuitive. A "Back" button allows users to return to the previous page, while a "Home" button brings them back to the homepage. Long-pressing the "Home" button opens the background process management, where recently used apps can be swiped left or right to remove them.

File management and content upload are flexible. Users can upload music, videos, e-books, and other files from a computer by connecting the player via the included USB cable. The computer will recognize the device as an MTP device named "M4," allowing access to its internal and external SD card folders for direct file transfer. For Mac users, specific MTP device file transfer software like OpenMTP or MacDroid is recommended. Alternatively, content can be uploaded from a cellphone using dedicated apps: MiniShare for Android phones (downloadable via QR code) and ZapyaGo for iPhones (searchable in the AppStore or downloadable via QR code).

The device supports various multimedia functions. For audiobooks, TXT files can be uploaded to the books folder. Opening the file and tapping the book page reveals a speaker button for playback, with TTS settings accessible via "Settings --- Language & input --- Speech." While the AIMP Player and the original music player app do not support lyrics playback, the device's core functions remain robust.

Maintenance Features

The Luoran MP3 Player includes a reset function, which can be activated by long-pressing for 3 seconds to restore the device to factory settings. This is useful for troubleshooting or preparing the device for new users.

For common issues, the manual provides detailed troubleshooting steps:

  • Charging Issues: If the player doesn't charge, first check for poor contact by repeatedly plugging and unplugging the USB cable. If the issue persists, check if the USB port is damaged by connecting the player to a computer with a different USB port using a proven USB cable. Finally, check if the USB cable itself is damaged by trying a different cable or attempting to charge other devices. Due to charging protocol limitations, only a USB A to C cable connected to a computer or a USB adapter can be used for charging. If all these steps fail, it indicates a fault with the player itself, and after-sales support should be contacted for replacement or refund.

  • Computer Connection Issues: If nothing happens when the player is connected to a computer, similar troubleshooting steps apply. Check for poor contact, a damaged USB port, or a damaged USB cable. When connected correctly, the player's top should display two icons, and an MTP device named "M4" should appear in the computer's drive list.

  • FM Radio Issues: The FM radio requires a wired headset to function as an antenna. If the radio cannot be turned on, ensure a headset is plugged in. If the fault persists, the 3.5mm port might be in poor contact, and trying a different headset is recommended.

  • Deleting Apps: Unnecessary apps like FM radio, Recorder, Ebook, Video, and Browser can be deleted by long-pressing the app icon on the desktop and dragging it to the trash icon. However, deleting apps is irreversible unless the device is reset to factory settings. If temporary removal is desired, apps can be disabled in "Settings--Disable App" instead of being deleted.

Important Warnings:

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of the device, users are advised to:

  • Avoid leaving the device in extreme temperatures (below -10°C or above 50°C) for extended periods, as this can cause deformation and shorten its service life.
  • Do not use the equipment during thunderstorms.
  • Do not immerse the device in water.
  • Do not expose the equipment to direct sunlight for long durations.

Warranty Information:

The product comes with a warranty period of one year from the date of sale, covering the product host. Within this period, failures or damages due to product quality problems are eligible for free replacement or a full refund. Accessories like USB cables and earphones are not covered by the warranty, though quality problems within 7 days of purchase may qualify for free replacement.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Issues outside the warranty period.
  • Devices that have been disassembled or repaired privately by the customer.
  • Man-made damage, accidental damage, or deformation.
  • Failures caused by installation or use in abnormal environments (high temperature, high pressure, humidity).
  • Damage caused by natural disasters (lightning strikes, floods, earthquakes).

For any questions or issues, after-sales support can be reached via email at hgd_us@163.com, with a promised response within 24 hours.
