What to do if the optical output does not work on my M-Audio Lagoon?

  If the optical output on your M-Audio PCI Card isn't working, verify the cable connection; a red light should be visible from the cable extending from your LAGOON card's output. Also, check the LAGOON Tools General page to ensure the correct output format (S/PDIF or ADAT) is selected. In the LAGOON Tools MME page, review the MME Output device settings to confirm an output device is selected. Finally, check your application software output configuration to ensure the LAGOON card is selected as the output device.

  If the optical input on your M-Audio PCI Card isn't working, check that the cable is correctly connected; a red light should be visible from the optical cable coming from your external equipment's output. Next, verify that the correct input format (S/PDIF or ADAT) is selected in the LAGOON Tools General page. Also, check the MME Input device settings in the LAGOON Tools MME page to ensure an input device is selected. Lastly, check your application software input configuration to confirm that the LAGOON card is selected as the input device.

  If ADAT Sync In isn't working correctly on your M-Audio PCI Card, check the Clock source settings in the LAGOON Tools General page and ensure that 'ADAT Sync In' is selected. If you're using Time Code synchronization, verify that the MIDI Input device is enabled in the LAGOON Tools MIDI page. Also, if using Time Code synchronization, check your application software MIDI input configuration to ensure the LAGOON card is selected as the MIDI input device.
