Why is my MachineryHouse BS-912 blade breaking excessively?
- SScott DudleyAug 14, 2025
Excessive blade breakage in your MachineryHouse Saw can be caused by several factors. The materials may be loosening in the vise, so ensure you clamp the work securely. The speed or feed might be incorrect, requiring an adjustment. If the blade teeth spacing is too large, replace it with a blade with smaller teeth spacing. For coarse materials, use a blade with slow speed and small teeth spacing. Check and adjust the blade tension to prevent slipping on the wheel. Ensure the blade contacts the work after the motor starts to prevent damage. Adjust the wheel alignment if the blade rubs on the wheel flange. Misaligned guide bearings also contribute to breakage, so adjust them accordingly. If the blade is too thick, use a thinner blade. Finally, cracking at the weld may require re-welding.
