Overview

The Maktek Omega Electrical Boiler is a central heating system that uses electricity as its sole fuel source, offering an eco-friendly solution with zero emissions and 99% operational efficiency. It provides both central heating through radiators and domestic hot water via a heat exchanger.

Function Description:

The boiler heats water for central heating and provides hot water on demand. Its operation is managed through a control panel with two keys (P1 and P2) and an LCD screen that displays operating parameters and error codes.

  • P1 Key: Primarily used for adjusting the desired domestic hot water temperature. Turning it to the right increases the temperature. When the hot water function is off, there is no hot water production.
  • P2 Key: Offers several modes:
    • OFF-RESET: Switches the boiler off and serves as a reset function during failures. Safety measures like anti-frost and jamming protection remain active.
    • Winter Mode: Activates both domestic hot water (DHW) and heating functions. Heating system adjustments are made via P2, with DHW prioritized.
    • Summer Mode: Activates only the DHW function, suitable when central heating is not required. DHW temperature can be adjusted with the P1 key.
  • Digital Screen: Displays operating parameters and error codes (H1-H6) for various issues such as sensor errors (Central Heating, DHW, Heating Tank Water Level), low water pressure, high temperature, and limit thermostat errors.

Important Technical Specifications:

The Maktek Omega Electrical Boilers are available in a wide capacity range from 6 kW up to 100 kW.

  • Electrical Connection: Models up to 12 kW can operate with both 230V/50 Hz and 380V/50Hz. Higher capacity models require a 380V/50Hz electricity connection. Main energy cable dimensions should align with the technical specifications table.
  • Water Pressure: For DHW function, city water network pressure on the cold water inlet side should not exceed 6 Bars. A pressure regulator is required if pressure is higher. Minimum network pressure for DHW system operation is 0.8 Bar. The closed circuit pressure in the heating system should be maintained at 1.5 bar during filling.
  • Circulation Pump: Features a 3-speed circulation pump (NFSL 12/5 and NFSL 12/7 models) to accommodate varying installation resistance.
  • Dimensions:
    • Models up to 12 kW (e.g., 6kW, 9kW, 10kW, 12kW): Height 740mm, Width 437mm, Depth 320mm.
    • Models from 15 kW to 100 kW (e.g., 15kW, 18kW, 24kW, 30kW, 35kW, 40kW, 50kW, 60kW, 80kW, 100kW): Height 755mm, Width 575mm, Depth 320mm.
  • Connections:
    • Heating Water Outlet: G 3/4
    • Return Water Inlet: G 3/4
    • Domestic Hot Water Outlet: G 1/2
    • Cold Water Inlet: G 1/2
    • Filling Valve

Usage Features:

  • Safety Systems: Equipped with numerous safety functions for risk-free operation:
    • Short-circuit relay (RCD device) for electrical protection.
    • Heating tank water level sensor (H6 error) prevents operation without sufficient water.
    • Low water pressure protection (H3 error) prevents operation if pressure drops below 0.7 bar.
    • Overheat limit thermostat (H5 error) cuts off energy if heating water temperature exceeds 95°C.
    • Frost protection system activates when ambient temperature drops below 5°C, heating water to 40°C.
    • Domestic hot water NTC sensor (H2 error) and central heating NTC sensor (H1 error) monitor temperatures.
    • High water pressure protection with a 3 bar safety valve.
    • Precaution against pump lock: The pump operates for a period every 24 hours when the boiler is off.
    • Motorized valve safety: The 3-way valve operates every 24 hours when the boiler is off.
    • Automatic by-pass system ensures minimum water circulation in the heat exchanger, even if all thermostatic radiator valves are closed, preventing overheating.
    • 1 bar set safety switch protects against running without water.
  • Comfort:
    • Quiet operation and no chimney requirement allow for easy installation in living areas.
    • Aesthetic design with minimized dimensions.
    • Provides hot water at a constant set temperature.
    • Heating system quickly reaches desired temperature.
    • Modulation according to room temperature (with optional room thermostat).
    • Electronic water temperature control with NTC system.
    • Electronic temperature adjustment thermostat.

Maintenance Features:

  • Annual Service: Recommended annual controls by authorized service personnel include:
    • Checking for leaks in the water circuit and replacing joints if necessary.
    • Visual inspection of the device.
    • Checking the proper functioning of the heating system's safety components (heat limit and safety thermostats).
    • Inspecting all electricity connections and fastening loosened cables.
    • Measuring and checking the operation of resistances.
    • Evaluating hot water production efficiency (flow and temperature).
    • General operation check of the device.
  • Winter Precautions: During winter, if the ambient temperature drops below 0°C and the electrical connection is interrupted, the system water must be drained to prevent freezing and potential damage.
  • Safety during Maintenance: Always cut off the electricity supply from the RCD (short circuit relay) before any cleaning or maintenance.
  • Installation Requirements: Installation must be performed by authorized dealers and electricians. First-time operation must be done by Maktek Authorized Service to validate the guarantee. Proper grounding is essential.
  • Water Quality: Using lime water in hot water circulation can cause damage; ideal water hardness is 15-20 French hardness.
  • System Cleaning: For old installations, the closed circuit water must be cleaned and flushed before installing and operating the boiler to prevent damage from dirty water.
