    • C
      Christine DaughertyJul 26, 2025
If the BIO-Wheel on your Marineland Water Filtration System isn't moving or stops, inspect the BIO-Wheel bearings and axle for dirt or mineral deposits and clean them carefully. Make sure all parts are installed correctly and that there are no obstructions preventing free rotation. Regular filter maintenance is also essential.

Why is my Marineland Penguin Power Filter BIO-Wheel splashing and/or making excessive water noise?
    • B
      bridget44Aug 3, 2025
If the BIO-Wheel on your Marineland Water Filtration System is splashing or making excessive water noise, allow 24-28 hours for a "breaking in" period, as the BIO-Wheel material may not be fully absorptive when new. Additionally, check the aquarium water level, as levels lower than normal can cause excessive splashing or noise.

What to do if my Marineland Penguin Power Filter filter fails to pump water or flow has slowed?
    • T
      Terry RichardsAug 11, 2025
If your Marineland Water Filtration System filter isn't pumping water or the flow has slowed, first ensure the outlet has power by unplugging and reconnecting the electrical cord to restart the Impeller. Next, check that the Impeller Housing is firmly seated in the Filter Box and that the water is at the correct level. Remove the Impeller Housing to ensure the Impeller Assembly can rotate freely, clearing any obstructions like carbon or gravel. Also, maintain the aquarium water level at 1/2 inch below the frame and clean the inside of the Intake Tube with a flexible filter brush.

Why is my Marineland Penguin Power Filter filter making excessive mechanical noise?
    • L
      liudavidAug 18, 2025
If your Marineland Water Filtration System filter is making excessive mechanical noise, ensure the Impeller Housing is firmly seated in the Filter Box and the water level is correct. Also, remove the Impeller Housing and check that the Impeller Assembly can rotate freely, removing any carbon or gravel particles that may be interfering. If the noise persists, consider replacing the Impeller Housing or Impeller Assembly.
