Overview

This document provides assembly and care instructions for the Martha Stewart Kids' Camper Play Tent, model G78102. It's a children's play tent designed to resemble a camper, offering an imaginative play space.

Function Description:

The Martha Stewart Kids' Camper Play Tent is a portable, indoor play structure for children. Its primary function is to provide a dedicated, enclosed space for imaginative play, mimicking the appearance of a camper. The tent is designed for easy assembly and disassembly, making it suitable for use in various indoor settings. It encourages creative role-playing and provides a cozy retreat for children.

Important Technical Specifications:

The tent structure is composed of various poles and connectors, which form a stable frame over which a fabric cover is fitted.

  • Fabric: The outer shell is made of 100% Polycotton. This blend combines the breathability of cotton with the durability and wrinkle resistance of polyester.
  • Dimensions of Components:
    • Part A: Camper Play Tent Cover (1 unit)
    • Part B: 4-way Connector (4 units)
    • Part C: 3-way Connector (4 units)
    • Part D: 2-way Connector (2 units)
    • Part E: Curved Pole (4 units) - Length: 32.3" (820mm)
    • Part F: Straight Pole (4 units) - Length: 33.5" (850mm)
    • Part G: Straight Pole (4 units) - Length: 35.2" (895mm)
    • Part H: Straight Pole (2 units) - Length: Not specified, but visually shorter than F and G.
  • Assembly Method: The tent relies on a tension-based assembly system where poles are firmly seated into connectors by twisting and pushing. This method ensures the stability of the frame and a snug fit for the fabric cover.
  • Safety: The product includes a warning to keep the tent away from fire and sources of heat. Adult assembly is required.

Usage Features:

  • Imaginative Play: The camper design, complete with windows and a door, stimulates imaginative play scenarios, allowing children to pretend they are on a camping trip or an adventure.
  • Indoor Use: The tent is specifically designed for indoor use, as indicated by the care instructions ("For indoor use only") and the warning about colors fading in direct sunlight.
  • Portability: While not explicitly stated, the modular design with separate poles and connectors suggests that the tent can be disassembled and stored, making it relatively portable within an indoor environment.
  • Easy Assembly (with caveats): The instructions emphasize the importance of firmly connecting poles to ensure the cover fits correctly. This highlights a key aspect of its design: proper assembly is crucial for the tent's structural integrity and appearance.
  • Velcro Connections: Step 5 indicates that Velcro is used on the inside of the tent, likely for securing the fabric cover to the frame or for other structural connections.

Maintenance Features:

  • Fabric Care:
    • Washing: The 100% Polycotton fabric cover is machine washable in cold water (30°C).
    • Drying: It should be air-dried.
    • Bleaching: Do not bleach the fabric.
    • Wrinkle Removal: If wrinkles occur, a steamer on a low heat setting can be used, with caution to avoid direct contact with the fabric.
  • Color Fastness: The instructions note that colors may fade if the outer shell is left in direct sunlight for long periods, reinforcing its designation for indoor use.
  • Inspection: Users are advised to thoroughly inspect the product for missing or defective parts immediately after opening the carton.
  • Customer Service: Guidecraft Customer Service is available for support in the U.S. and Canada, with contact information provided.
  • Limited Warranty: The product comes with a one-year limited warranty from the date of purchase for the original purchaser. Proof of purchase is required for replacement parts.

Assembly Process Overview:

The assembly is broken down into six steps:

  1. Step 1: Assemble the base frame using poles (F, D, G) and 4-way connectors (B). The instruction emphasizes twisting and pushing poles into connectors simultaneously to ensure a firm connection.
  2. Step 2: Attach the curved poles (E) to the base frame.
  3. Step 3: Construct the roof frame using poles (H, G) and 3-way connectors (C), then attach it to the top of the curved poles.
  4. Step 4: Drape the main tent cover (A) over the assembled frame.
  5. Step 5: Flip the tent upside down to connect the internal Velcro fasteners.
  6. Step 6: Attach additional components, possibly decorative or structural, as indicated by the "2x" label and the visual representation of a small flap or attachment point.

The design prioritizes a snug fit and stability through tension, making careful assembly a key factor in the final appearance and functionality of the play tent.
