Carefully unpack the letter opener, store packing material, and inspect for shipping damage.
Connect power, place on a flat surface, and ensure clear area for opened letters and scrap.
Unfold the catch tray, lay flat, fold sides up, and install the catch tray pin.
Tap envelopes to settle contents, allowing the opposite side to be opened without cutting contents.
With opener OFF, place envelopes on feed deck, aligned with blade cover, not under it.
Turn ON the opener, envelopes feed and open. Turn OFF when done. Do not run without envelopes.
Clean feed belts with cleaner to remove ink, toner, lint. Replace if they no longer feed.
Clear scrap paper, especially near blades. Remove deck if needed. Clean surfaces with water/cleanser.
