REWIND
STARTER
l.
Remove the
assembly
from the
engine,
operate
the
starter slowly
and observe
the starter
dog, Fig.
l.
If
it
does not emerge
as soon
as the
rope
is pulled,
tighten the retainer screw.

Relieve
spring tension prior
to disassembly.
Pull
rope
to full
length,
tie slip knot
outside
housing
and

3. Hold
as
shown
in Fig.
3, untie
slip
knot,
pull out
rope
and
relieve thumb
pressure
to allow
pulley
to un-
wind
slowly.
4. To complaely
disassemble the starter,
remove
the retainer screw, Fig.
3.
5. Refer
to
Figs.
4 and 5
for
the correct
positioning
of
the starter dog and the starter
dog return spring.
