Function Description

The Master Chef 12-Cup Coffee Maker is designed to brew coffee for household use. It features a water tank, a funnel for ground coffee and a paper filter, an anti-drip valve, a carafe, a main housing, a warming plate, and an ON/OFF switch. The appliance is capable of brewing up to 12 cups of coffee, with a maximum capacity of 1.8 L. It is equipped with an automatic stop function when the carafe is removed during brewing, allowing users to pour and serve coffee at any time. Brewing Coffee:

2. Adding Coffee: Place the funnel into its support, ensuring correct positioning. Insert a paper filter into the funnel and add ground coffee. The manual suggests one level spoon of ground coffee per cup, but this can be adjusted for desired brew strength. Close the top cover completely.
3. Carafe Placement: Insert the carafe onto the warming plate.
4. Power On: Plug the power cord into a grounded outlet. Press the ON/OFF switch to the "I" position; the indicator will illuminate, and brewing will begin.
5. Interrupting Brewing: Brewing can be paused at any time by pressing the ON/OFF switch to the "O" position. Brewing will resume when the switch is returned to the "I" position. The anti-drip valve allows the carafe to be removed for pouring during brewing, but it should be returned to the warming plate within 30 seconds to prevent overflow.

Cleaning and Maintenance:

6. Carafe Care: Do not clean the carafe with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials. The carafe is fragile and designed specifically for this appliance; it should not be used on a range top.

Removing Mineral Deposits (Descaling): To maintain efficiency, mineral deposits from water should be regularly cleaned.

1. Prepare Descaling Solution: Fill the water tank to the MAX level with a mixture of water and a household descaler (4 parts water to 1 part descaler). Citric acid can also be used. Refer to the descaler's instructions.
2. Remove Coffee: Ensure the filter is free of any coffee.
3. Start Brewing: Press the ON/OFF switch to the "I" position; the indicator will illuminate, and brewing will begin.
4. Partial Brew: Brew about two cups of coffee.
5. Soak: Press the ON/OFF switch to the "O" position to stop the unit immediately. Allow the descaler to soak in the unit for at least 15 minutes.
6. Repeat: Restart the unit and repeat steps 3-5 at least three times.
7. Rinse: To rinse the machine, brew with tap water at least three times.
