If you have a check valve, ensure it has a vent hole drilled between 1/16” and 1/8” in diameter, positioned between the pump discharge and the check valve, about 1-2” above where the discharge pipe screws into the pump discharge and below the waterline. Also, inspect the intake screen for any restrictions and clean it. Finally, make sure the check valve is installed correctly.
