What to do if my Master Plumber Water Pump won’t start?
    • C
      Claire AustinAug 6, 2025
If your Master Plumber Water Pump isn't starting, first ensure it's properly plugged into a working outlet. Check the fuse and replace it with the correct size if it's blown. Also, verify the line voltage; if it's too low, inspect the wiring from the main switch. If the voltage is OK, contact your power company or hydro authority. If none of these steps work, the motor or float switch might be defective, requiring replacement. Lastly, check for any obstructions in the impeller float; if it won’t turn, remove the lower pump body to clear any blockages.

Why is my Master Plumber 539906 running but not pumping water?
    • S
      Shawn MortonAug 14, 2025
If your Master Plumber Water Pump is running but not delivering enough water, start by checking if the pump is correctly plugged into a proper outlet to ensure adequate line voltage. Next, examine the impeller for any obstructions and clean them out. If the impeller is plugged or the parts are worn, clean the impeller or replace the pump. If you have a check valve, ensure it has a vent hole drilled between 1/16” and 1/8” in diameter, positioned between the pump discharge and the check valve, about 1-2” above where the discharge pipe screws into the pump discharge and below the waterline. Also, inspect the intake screen for any restrictions and clean it. Finally, make sure the check valve is installed correctly.

What to do if my Master Plumber Water Pump won't shut off?
    • M
      mconnerAug 21, 2025
If your Master Plumber Water Pump won't shut off, the float switch may be defective and needs replacement. Also, check for any restrictions in the discharge, such as obstacles or ice in the piping; if present, remove the pump and clean both the pump and the piping. Additionally, inspect the float for obstructions and remove them. Lastly, check the intake screen for restrictions; remove the pump and clean both the intake screen and the impeller.

Why does my Master Plumber 539906 Water Pump start and stop too often?
    • C
      Christopher BlairAug 29, 2025
If your Master Plumber Water Pump starts and stops too frequently, it could be due to backflow of water from the piping. In this case, install or replace the check-valve. Another possible cause is a faulty float switch, which would require replacement.
