6. Remove the four screws (2) that secure the two brackets (3). Remove the brackets.
7. Lift the wet wheel assembly (4) out of the housing.
8. Remove the brass bushings (5) and washers (6) from the wheel shaft.
9. Remove the E-shaped clip (7) from the gear end of the wheel shaft, and slide the gear (8) off the shaft.
10. Place the bushings and washers onto the new wheel assembly shaft.
11. Place the gear on the shaft, and reinstall the E-shaped clip.
12. Position the wet wheel assembly inside the housing. Verify that the gear is positioned properly so that
the wheel turns without binding.
13. Re-install the two brackets.
14. Put the cover back on the housing, turn the sharpener over, and re-install the six screws.
Replacing the belt (Fig.16 and 21)
1. Unplug the sharpener from the power source.
2. Move the tool rests and the eye shield to the lowest
positions.
3. Turn the sharpener over, and place it on a stable work
surface.
4. Remove the 6 screws (Fig. 16) that hold the cover to
the housing.
5. Place the sharpener upright on the work surface and lift the cover off the housing.
6. Loosen and remove the nut (2).
7. Remove the bolt, the pulley assembly (3) and the washers. Remove the old belt (4).
8. Place a new belt over the small and large pulleys.
9. Place the large pulley (3) in position.
10. Insert the bolt through the housing, the pulley assembly, and the washers. Before tightening the nut,
verify that the gears and both sharpening wheels move freely.
11. Put the cover back on the housing, turn the sharpener over, and re-install the six screws.
