The MasterPro 17-in-1 Ultimate Bread Maker is a versatile kitchen appliance designed for automated bread making and other food preparation tasks. It offers a wide range of programs and features to simplify the process of creating various types of bread, doughs, jams, and even yogurt.
Function Description
The primary function of this appliance is to automate the bread-making process, from kneading and rising to baking. It features 17 distinct programs, allowing users to create a diverse selection of baked goods and other food items.
The available programs include:
- Sandwich Bread: Ideal for basic bread recipes and pre-packaged bread mixes, producing a standard loaf.
- Quick Bread: Designed for faster bread production, typically under an hour, using baking powder and soda for activation.
- Sweet Bread: Suited for breads with additives like fruit juices, grated coconut, raisins, dried fruits, chocolate, or added sugar, resulting in a light and airy texture due to a longer rising phase.
- French Bread: Best for breads low in fat and sugar, yielding a crisp crust and chewy interior. It's suitable for light breads made from fine flour but not for recipes requiring butter, margarine, or milk.
- Brioche Bread: Produces a fine and crispy crust with a rich, buttery crumb.
- Whole Wheat Bread: For breads containing over 50% whole wheat, featuring a longer preheat time for grain soaking and expansion, typically resulting in a crispy, thick crust.
- Rye Bread: Accommodates various proportions of rye flour, producing denser bread than wheat flour, with color varying based on flour choice and functions.
- Gluten Free Bread: Specifically for gluten-free flours and baking mixtures, requiring longer liquid uptake and having different rising properties.
- Rice Bread: Incorporates cooked rice (1:1 ratio with flour) for a delicious, chewy loaf, perfect for sandwiches or toast.
- Olive Bread: Kneads and bakes bread with additives such as olives and herbs.
- Fruit Bread: Kneads and bakes with dried fruits, nuts, or soybeans.
- Dough: Prepares yeast dough for bread, buns, or rolls, which can then be baked in a conventional oven. This program does not include baking.
- Pizza Dough: Prepares yeast dough specifically for pizza crust, to be transferred to a conventional oven or pizza maker. This program also does not include baking.
- Knead: Performs kneading only, without rising or baking, useful for preparing doughs for pizzas and other items.
- Mix: Provides mixing only, without rising or baking, suitable for cake mixes, doughs, and desserts.
- Jam: Used for making jams from fresh fruits and marmalades from oranges. Users are cautioned not to exceed quantities or allow boiling over.
- Yoghurt: Ferments milk to make yogurt.
Usage Features
The bread maker is designed for ease of use, with a clear control panel and display.
- Control Panel: The appliance features a control panel with a digital display and several buttons:
- MENU: Used to select the desired program from the 17 available settings.
- WEIGHT: Allows selection of desired loaf weight (500g, 750g, 1kg) for programs 1-11.
- TIMER +/-: Enables the delay start feature, allowing users to set a cycle time up to 15 hours in advance (including delay and breadmaking program).
- COLOUR SETTING: Selects the desired crust color (light, medium, or dark) for programs 1-11.
- START/STOP: Initiates a program with a single press. Holding for 0.5 seconds pauses the program, while holding for 3 seconds cancels it. Pressing it at the end of a baking cycle allows for bread removal.
- Display Settings: When plugged in, the appliance defaults to program 1, 750g, and medium crust, with a 3:00 display. These settings can be adjusted using the control panel.
- Delay Start: The TIMER arrows allow users to set a delayed start for most programs, providing flexibility in meal preparation. This feature is not available for the JAM function.
- Crust Colour and Loaf Size Selection: For programs 1-11, users can customize the crust color and loaf size to their preference.
- Ingredient Addition: Ingredients should be added to the nonstick bread pan in the order specified in recipes to ensure proper mixing and rising.
- Kneading Paddle: The removable kneading paddle is inserted onto the drive shaft inside the bread pan.
- Keep Warm Function: After baking, the appliance automatically enters a 1-hour "KEEP WARM" cycle, indicated by a 0:00 display. This can be canceled by holding the START/STOP button for 3 seconds. Removing bread immediately after baking is recommended to prevent the crust from becoming darker.
- Safety Features: The appliance includes a grounded plug and requires proper earthing. It is designed for domestic use only and should not be operated for commercial purposes or outdoors. Users are advised not to touch hot surfaces or moving parts during operation.
Maintenance Features
Proper care and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the bread maker.
- Cleaning Before First Use: Before initial use, all packaging and accessories should be removed, and the appliance cleaned as described in the CARE section. Metal utensils should not be used in the bread pan to avoid damaging the non-stick surface.
- Cooling Down: Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning or storage. This typically takes about 30 minutes. Leaving the lid open can speed up cooling, but ensure it's in a safe place away from children and pets.
- Cleaning the Kneading Paddle: The paddle should be wiped with a damp cotton cloth. If it's stuck in the bread, the removal hook can be used. Soaking the bread tin with warm water for up to an hour can loosen a stubborn paddle.
- Cleaning the Bread Pan: The nonstick bread pan should be removed by turning it counter-clockwise and lifting it out. It can be wiped inside and out with a damp cloth. Abrasive agents or sharp objects should not be used to protect the non-stick coating. The pan must be completely dry before reinstallation.
- Cleaning the Housing and Top Lid: After use, the unit should be allowed to cool. The lid, housing, baking chamber, and interior viewing window can be wiped with a damp cloth. Abrasive cleaners should be avoided as they can degrade the surface polish. The housing should never be immersed in water.
- Storage: Before storing, ensure the bread maker is completely cooled, clean, and dry, with the lid closed. It should be stored in a well-ventilated and dry place to prevent damage from dampness.
- Troubleshooting: In case of a damaged cord, plug, malfunction, or damage, the appliance should be returned to the manufacturer or an authorized service agent for examination and repair.
- Accessory Use: Only accessory attachments recommended by the appliance manufacturer should be used to prevent injuries.
