Function Description
The -LMi option for the TB series enhances the power supply unit with advanced communication capabilities, allowing for remote control, monitoring, and configuration. It supports various interfaces and protocols, making it suitable for integration into automated test and measurement systems. The core function of the device is to provide a regulated DC power supply, with the -LMi option extending its utility through digital control.

The -LMi option provides the following key technical specifications:
- Interfaces: LAN, RS-232C, USB (TMC), and RS-485.
- LXI Compliance: The -LMi option operates as an LXI compliant device (Class "C", version "1.4 LXI Core 2011) when the interface is set to LAN/USB/RS-485.
- TCP/IP Modes: Supports DHCP, Auto-IP, and Manual-IP for LAN configuration.
- Command Set: Utilizes both SCPI (Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments) and Matsusada Precision original commands for instrument control.
- Web Interface: Features a built-in web interface for remote control, monitoring, and configuration via a web browser.

The precision of voltage and current settings varies by model:
- Voltage:
- Models for less than 10V: 0.001V
- Models for 10V or more to less than 100V: 0.01V
- Models for 100V or more: 0.1V

- Models for 100A or more: 0.1A
- Models for 10A or more to less than 100A: 0.01A
- Models for 1A or more to less than 10A: 0.001A
- Models for less than 1A: 0.1mA
Usage Features
The device offers several usage features for flexible operation and integration:
- Front Panel Operation: The front panel includes a LAN communication link indicator (LED) to show the status of the network connection:
- OFF: Interface not set to LAN.
- Green lit: Unit has obtained an IP address and is in normal communication.
- Green blinking: Unit is in the process of obtaining an IP address.
- Red lit: Unit failed to obtain an IP address or cannot locate a communicating party.
- Rear Panel Connections:
- USB connector (Type B) for USB (TMC) communication.
- LAN cable connector (RJ-45) for Ethernet communication.
- MC 0.5/5-G-2.5 connector for RS-485, supporting both four-wire full-duplex and two-wire half-duplex configurations.
- LXI Standard: The device is LXI compliant, enabling communication over LAN for measurement and control. LXI instruments are required to have IVI driver compliance and a web interface.
- IVI Driver: Supports IVI-C (DLL using C-based entry points, suitable for LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI) and IVI-COM (DLL based on Microsoft COM, suitable for Visual Basic, C++, Microsoft Office VBA, .NET). The IVI driver provides a standard API for communication, ensuring interchangeability between instruments of the same class.
- VISA Library: Requires a VISA library (e.g., NI-VISA, Agilent VISA IO Libraries) to be installed for executing measurement instrument drivers and enabling automatic control regardless of the communication interface.
- LAN Communication Protocols: Supports SCPI-RAW (low-level TCP/IP socket communication, recommended port 5025) and VXI-11 (standard protocol built on VISA library, enabling GPIB multiline message, uniline message, and service request functions over LAN).
- Web Interface: Allows control and monitoring of the instrument, as well as changing LAN communication settings, via a web browser. The hostname is factory-set as "model name"-"serial number" (e.g., "TB-999999S").
- Start-up Menu: Provides access to various settings via the front panel 7-segment display:
- "LAn SEt": LAN settings (IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, DNS server, MAC address, TCP/IP mode).
- "LAn rSt": LAN reset.
- "Com": Command setting (SCPI or Matsusada Precision original commands).
- "Int.F": Interface setting (LAN, USB (TMC), RS-485, RS-232C).
- Ethernet Settings: Configurable IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, DNS server, and TCP/IP mode (DHCP, Auto-IP, Manual). MAC address is read-only.
- Command Setting: Allows switching between SCPI commands (default, required for IVI drivers) and Matsusada Precision original commands.
- Interface Setting: Enables selection of LAN, USB, RS-485, or RS-232C as the communication interface.
- LAN Connection Procedures: Detailed steps are provided for connecting to Ethernet and obtaining an IP address using DHCP, Auto-IP, or Manual IP address setting.
- SCPI Commands: A comprehensive list of SCPI commands is provided for controlling various aspects of the power supply, including:

- Control Page: Enables remote control of units, viewing output values, and changing settings.
- Boot Page: Configures settings related to the communication interface (Host Interface, Command, Command Reply).
- Security Page: Allows modification of the password for Web interface access (up to 16 alphanumeric characters).
- Links Page: Provides links to Matsusada Precision websites and LXI/VISA resources.
Maintenance Features
The manual includes troubleshooting information and guidance for resolving common issues:
- Troubleshooting Guide: A table lists common problems, their causes, and suggested measures.
- LAN indicator not lit/red/blinking: Check LAN cable, interface setting, TCP/IP mode, and perform LAN reset.
- USB (TMC) communication issues: Check USB cable, interface setting, and VISA library installation.
- RS-485 communication issues: Check communication cable, interface setting, and driver installation.
- Communication errors during sending commands: Reduce commands to transmit or make a gap between commands.
- SCPI commands not working: Check command setting (must be "SCPI") and remote mode (must be "REM").
- Website screen not appearing: Check LAN indicator and IP address.
- Inquiry: If problems persist after troubleshooting, users are advised to contact the sales department with details such as company name, department, name, model and version, connection status (communication interface used), date of delivery, problem description, and frequency.
- LAN Reset: This function initializes the current settings and restores the factory default settings for LAN parameters (IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, DNS server, DHCP, Auto-IP, Manual-IP, HostName, Description, Web password). This can be performed from the front panel menu by pressing and holding the LOCK button.
