This document describes the Smart Lectern, a device designed for presentations and interactive use.

Function Description

The Smart Lectern serves as an interactive podium with a touch display, integrated microphones, and various connectivity options. It features an electric lifting column for adjustable height, allowing users to move it up or down as needed. The device is equipped with gooseneck microphones and microphone ports, ensuring clear audio capture. For connectivity, it includes USB ports for external devices like mobile hard disks, U disks, USB keyboards, and mice. It also provides multiple audio input and output interfaces (3.5mm and 6.5mm AUX IN/OUT, CANNON interface) and an HDMI OUT port to connect to external displays. Network connectivity is available via a LAN interface. The device also has a magnetic pen slot for its capacitive pen.

Usage Features

Electric Lifting Function: The Smart Lectern's height can be adjusted using dedicated "Up" and "Down" buttons, allowing users to customize the podium's height for comfortable use.
Mobility: The lectern is designed with moving casters, enabling easy relocation. Users can tilt the podium and move it by holding the ends of the display frame.
Microphone Usage: For optimal audio, users should point the gooseneck microphones towards the speaker and ensure the speaker stands within a 30cm range of the microphones.
Powering the Device: The lectern is charged via an AC power cord. It has a power button with an indicator light: red for power off, blue for power on, and alternating red/blue for sleep state. A short press powers it on or puts it to sleep, a 2-second long press initiates a soft shutdown, and a 10-second long press forces a shutdown.
Wireless Screenshare:
- With a Wireless Screen Box: The Smart Lectern can wirelessly connect to a MAXHUB wireless screen box. By connecting the screen box to another display, the lectern's content can be shared wirelessly. Both the lectern and the screen box must be on the same LAN.
- To a MAXHUB Display: The lectern can wirelessly connect to a MAXHUB Display using its built-in Smart Lectern Screen Share Software. Similarly, a personal computer can share its screen to the lectern via the built-in MAXHUB Share software. Both devices need to be on the same LAN.
HDMI OUT Connection: The HDMI OUT port allows connection to external display devices with HDMI input. It requires an HDMI adapter cable between the screen and the column for proper function.
USB Connection: USB ports facilitate connecting various USB devices like mobile hard disks, U disks, keyboards, and mice.
AUX OUT Connection: The AUX OUT interfaces (3.5mm and 6.5mm) connect to devices with audio input capabilities, such as power amplifiers or stereo equipment. A 3.5mm adapter cable is required between the screen and the column for the audio interface of the base to function.
Capacitive Pen Instructions: The capacitive pen allows for interactive use. Touching the screen with the pen tip performs a left-click. Holding the upper key and clicking the screen performs a right-click. When handwriting input is supported, holding the down key acts as an eraser.
Standby Mode: Pressing the standby key will put the unit into standby mode without fully turning it off.

Maintenance Features

General Maintenance: Regular maintenance and careful cleaning are recommended to prevent early faults and keep the machine in good condition. Always unplug the power plug before cleaning to prevent electric shock.
Screen Cleaning:
- Unplug the power cable before cleaning.
- Use a soft, dustless, and dry cloth for general cleaning.
- For deep cleaning, contact an authorized service center.
- Never use water or spray-type detergents directly on the unit.
- To clean, mix a little fabric softener or tableware detergent with alcohol. Soak a soft cloth in the mixture, twist it to a half-dry state, and wipe the screen. Repeat several times, ensuring no water flows into the machine.
- Avoid displaying high-brightness images for extended periods to prolong panel lifetime and display performance.
Face Frame Cleaning: Use a dry, soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the front frame.
Long-Term Storage: If the machine will not be used for a long time (e.g., during holidays), unplug the power plug to prevent potential dangers from power supply ripple or lightning.
Placement:
- Do not place heavy objects on top of the unit.
- Do not insert anything into the machine.
- Keep the unit away from appliances that generate magnetic fields.
- Avoid spilling any liquid near or on the unit.
- Do not place the unit on unstable surfaces.
- Avoid direct sunlight and other heat sources.
- For long-term fixed use, secure the base to prevent toppling.
Temperature and Humidity:
- Normal operating temperature is 0℃~40℃. Do not place near radiators or heaters.
- If moved from a cold to a warm place, unplug the power cable and wait at least 2 hours before turning it on to allow moisture to evaporate.
- Do not expose to rain or high humidity. Keep the indoor environment dry and cool.
- Ensure proper ventilation to release heat easily.
Wiring Precautions: When using HDMI OUT or audio interfaces on the base, ensure the corresponding adapter cables are connected between the screen and the column for proper functionality.
